What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Andres

There are plenty of groups and organizations. I am in ASUCI (Student Government) and it oversees the student body. It is an organization of great success as it reaches out to the whole student body. Athletic events are well attended, in particular basketball games.

The largest social network on campus is Greek Life. Its still a relatively small community (9{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the student body), but its still more people than you can keep track of. Almost everyone who is social at UCI ends up going greek for the social necessity of it, but the system here isnt animal house. There are awesome parties, but everyone is SUPER on their shit. The networking i've gotten out of being greek here at UCI is unbelievable and the experience will definetely make a huge difference in my post college career. Irvine is literally the safest city in the country so dorm rooms are left open all the time and people are totally safe out running at 2am alone. Athletics isnt huge yet, but its getting pretty big right now. There are some local traditions and other eccentric things about the campus, but its still pretty young and lots of things are still developing. The people who are partying are doing it at least 2-4 days a week. If you want something to do, theres something going on almost every night of the week, especially if you're involved. Its a rare night that I'm not skipping at least 2 things to be at another, so there is definetely nightlife.
