It depends on who you go to parties with. If your friends know you do not drink and are fine with it, than you do not have to worry as much. Be sure not to make friends who will peer pressure you into drinking and then you feel uncomfortable. There have been times when I don't feel like drinking but people always ask "where is your beer?" In that case I just fill a cup up with beer and pretend to drink it so no one will ask questions. Another trick is to act like you are drunk, when really you are sober, and people will not see you as the party pooper. This gets a little annoying though. You could always just find a fun dance partner and then you don't need a drink. People hosting parties will let you in even if you do not appear to be drinking, so that is not a worry.
