I would have to say the worst thing about the University of Georgia is the size. With over 30,000 students it is easy to feel like a number and get a little lost and confused sometimes. Whether you need help from a teacher with a math project or you just need to figure out how to get somewhere, the personal attention that is so often needed is lost because of the size of the student body.

Karen

I think it's too conservative, not environmentally friendly enough, and too centered around football, sorority/fraternity life, and drinking.

I think the worst thing at our school would be the prices of books and student fees. Coming into college, I got to learn and feel what it is like as a "broke college student." With high expenses and low income and pocket money, it is hard to balance school and a job to afford the many fees that the school charges.

Therese

Alcohol is a very prevelant substance. I also don't like some of the Confederate flag traditions that still prevail.

AJ

The worst thing about my school is probably the lack of diversity in the student body. It's unrealistic to walk around on campus and see a white majority because the world is not like that, and also because a certain level of diversity is needed to expand horizons and open minds.

Maura

I would consider the amount of hills the worst part of campus. It's a real work out sometimes!

jordan

Jamie

The poverty that surrounds the school.

Sarah

It's very impersonal, and making real friends outside of greek life is difficult.

Kristen

The administration can be a pain in the butt, but when students get their point across, we get things accomplished in our own favor.

Myles

The students are party all the time. Classooms are filthy. Classes are too large. Hard to get ahold of professors after class.

Clint

Probably the campus police. They tend to give out tickets that are very expensive and sometimes go out of their jurisdiction. I can't really thing of anything really bad about UGA other than that I guess.

Adam

Its emphasis on diversity and tolerance does not apply to all groups. To be diverse they discriminate against some of the other ethnic groups.

Colby

The class schedule could be better if we were on a quarter or trimester system. Going to class on every other day for extended periods of time gets tedious when the classes are drawn out too long over a semester.

Unless you are involved in a "liberal" field such as the arts, generally the people on campus are very conservative and not very open minded or willing to change; many in the general population are involved in a fraternity or sorority and are therefore very high up in the university social ladder. Football also dominates everything else, and seems to be given more attention or focus than academics sometimes.

Daniel

The amount of social activities can be a distractor for some students. Sometimes, it's difficult to study when there are football games. However, you can find facilities that are quiet where you can study even on game days.

Carlen

The worst thing is probably the strong emphasis on Greek life. I know it's not everything, but many people believe that it's the only way to find friends. I think it's part of being a southern, state school, but sometimes it can be frustrating.

Courtney

The worst thing about my school is that we claim academic diversity yet it is not as diverse as this school should be. The reason for this is because Athens is only an hour away from Atlanta, which is the capital of Georgia, and more than 50{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the students come from the Atlanta area.

Amber

The class sizes are mostly very large, which makes it somewhat difficult to interact. It's easier to grasp material when the classes are smaller because the teacher is more available for question/answer periods.
