There is an abundance of activities to do on campus which opens up the opportunity to meet new people and share thoughts and ideas and any concerns we may have.

The fact that there are so many different options. Greek life, hipster house parties, challenging classes, fun classes, drinking, alternative options. You can carve out your own niche with your own friends pretty easily.

There are so many good things about my school and it is extremely hard to just pick one. I would have to say the best thing is my College of Applied Health Sciences. The faculty and staff are amazing. I have had so many great opportunites interacting with faculty, professors, alumni, and the deans of my college. Everyone knows my name and I have the abiltity to do so much. I can make an impact on my college and the university at large because of the guidance I have received.

The best thing about my school is the diversity.

The University of Illinois is diverse in every sense of the word, and diversity teaches the world. We see too many conflicts around the globe, and hopefully, one day, we can learn from each other. My school has students who are every race, every religion, and every classification and I wish all higher-learning institutions could be the same, so maybe the next generation of leaders could learn from this diversity that I see on a daily basis. I think the problem with today's world is intolerance for those different than us, therefore, bringing everyone together could be great.

Diversity and opportunity. Beyond the classroom, there are many different enlightening pathways and experiences a student can explore and undertake. The plethora of international students and the variety of social differences, coupled with the hundreds of organizations and groups to get involved with molds into a unique college experience. There are ways for every type of personality to connect with others and experience new adventures that they may have never done before college. It makes college not only a typical classroom learning experience, but also a foundation for real world and personal development.

The best thing about U of I is all opportunity you have to learn and experience new things. I am from a very small, rural community, and by coming to U of I, I have broadened my horizons and had new experiences. I have taken many different classes at this school, everything from art history to chemistry, to music and political science, and I would have not been able to have had all the diverse academic experiences if I hadn't come to this school.

The best thing about my school is that there is a good balance between education and extracurriculars. Obviously we are at school to get an education that will allow us to get a job in the career we choose. The workload here is competitive and stressful so if we didn't have those outlets I think alot of students wouldn't be able to handle it. At least I know I wouldn't. The extracurriculars are where students make friends and create lasting relationships.

The variety of different cultural experiences (whether it be university programs or the different student organizations), and the overall learning/living experience.

It's location, it was far enough from home to have privacy and close enough to be able to come home when I wanted to.

This school has a tradition of excellence and tries very hard to continue this. It also is large enough that you can do anything you've wished to do. At the same time, everyone is pretty friendly and doesn't seem to be overwhelming, even though there are over 40,000 students on campus.

The best thing about my school is that the campus is huge but you get a small town feeling. I also like the amount of opportunities that are presented at the University of Illionis, we have numerous opportunities to find internships, research, and explore.

The best thing about the University of Illinois is the multitude of opportunities that are present. There are a large number of majors, and it is a state-funded school so there are more students, which brings a number of different perspectives and possible relationships. This is good because it increases the amount of life-learning (most of which happens outside the classroom) and creates a network that is beneficial later.

The positive, engaging, atmosphere! Everyone here says hello, people are helpful, willing to try new things, and you can tell as soon as you get on campus how outgoing everyone is.

With 40,000+ students, UIUC can be a headache for those who sought after a closely-knit, community school. Apart from fraternities and sororities (which can become snobbish at times with their publicized initiations) there's not much of a brotherhood tradition. Undergraduate classes are big and campus is even bigger. This is however a bonus for those who want to keep to themselves and not be pulled by the faculty members into all sorts of activities, like me. This frees up time for individuals to choose what activities THEY want, amongst the hundreds of activities the university boasts.

I love the RSOs (registered student organizations). They are the heart and soul of this campus. You really find you niche at this campus through all the clubs, honor societies, frats/sorts as well as clubs that can help you gain a better academic experience (ex pre-law club or pre-med club). It allows you to be with people that are like you and gives you the ability to gain leadership if you choose to be an officer over the next few years. It really makes a big campus feel very much at home.

The students were the best part about my school. Everyone that attended this school had an outgoing personality and an eagerness to learn and do well. This is very important in an academic life because when students are focused on learning, it pushes all students to develop a desire to learn to the best of their abilities. The student population is diverse and allows all students to meet and network with a broad range of personalities, who all have one common goal: a successful education. This experience allowed me to be able to work with all types of people.

The best thing about my school is free tutoring. Being at an academically challenging university is difficult and it is important that students can get help when needed no matter what their financial situation is. It is accessible to everyone in all majors.

Based on my experiences - which, mind you are certainly going to be different from others - I think the best thing about the University of Illinois is the amount of social activity that is available on any given night. Although much of it is centered around bars and parties, the school also has a vast amount of clubs to be involved in, theatre and concerts at various venues, and sporting events, most of which are vey affordable. Unfortunately, I think the bulk of students heavily abuse this commodity, and still somehow manage to achieve a prestigious degree.

For one thing, there is never a dull moment at this school. Between activities on the quad everyday, student organizations and on-campus performances there is always something to do. Because of this, I have been able to make lifelong friends whom I expect to be in my life for a long time. The diversity on this campus is something to be admired and I have been exposed to many different cultures. It is something about this campus I would consider to be one of its best attributes.

The school spirit., because no matter the racial groups or age groups everyone bands together and are proud to say where they came from.

I love the atmosphere and environment of my school. I like that it's big and you can do whatever you want because there is so much that goes on. The vastness of the university feels great because I can walk around and kind of get lost in the scenery. I love the feeling of a big city in a rural area because environmentally it's prettier.

The preparation it allows for a career. The classes are focused on teaching transferable skills that can applied to a job. Professors share their experiences in their fields and promote interest. Having the University of Illinois on your resume will help to make a strong first impression on employers and the alumni directory is outstanding.

I love the many resources the university has to offer. If someone would like to know more about a topic, it is pretty easy find the resources you are looking for. If you cannot find what you need yourself, then there is usually someone who can help you. As long as you take that first step of interest, you can pretty much discover whatever you want.

The diversity among the students is one of the best things. Because it is such a big university, there are students from all different walks of life. I have friends who are from the city, suburbs and country. I have friends who speak Estonian, German, Spanish, Chinese and many other languages. It is just really amazing to be exposed to so many different views and lifestyles.

It shaped me to be the person I am today; someone that I actually like and have confidence in.

The professors are exceptionally dedicated at this university. I have not had an instructor who was not well known and accredited in their feild, and I have gone through three different majors from Engineering to English. Beyond their dedication and knowledge, they are nice people who will go out to a coffee shop, sometimes even a pub, with students just to get to know them better. Good people is the best things this UIUC has to offer. And education, that too of course.

I love the unity that is present at this school. No matter your gender, race, religion, or cultural backround, there is a place for you to belong on this campus. I never wanted to go anywhere else, because the University of Illinois is place where you can go to get an excellent education, while making lifelong relationships with people from all different backrounds. I believe that everyone that goes here will leave an extremely learned and well rounded person.

The school spirit that is on campus is phenomenal. Everywhere you go you see Illini. Students will wear school shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, even pants. We are very supportive of all of our Big 10 sports/teams.
