depends on who you ask and in what context, i.e. some people may think unh is full of "hicks," I overheard an older woman in a nail salon recently who said students on this campus drink too much, especially girls, and that most of it is caused by "those fraternities and sororities"

As a member of the Greek System here at UNH, many stereotypes are made against houses on campus. For instance, I've heard some people say that Greeks only care about partying and drinking. Secondly, the Greek community has been stereotyped that members don't care, nor concentrate on academics and career development.

Sarah

Many people think that people at our university are all stoners and hippies. There seems to be an aura of laziness associated with UNH students and the idea that all we do is sit around and smoke weed all day. In addition alot of people that assume the laid back atmosphere of NH in general means people don't really care about anything and just kind of go with the flow -- this also

Vicky

Whitney

They're all white and preppy, or stoner hippies. They all wear the same clothes, listen to the same music, and all think alike. Supposedly is supposed to be a party school, but the university does a good job at making it more and more difficult to party.

UNH is considered a party school. Many students are from New Hampshire, who most are very sheltered and have had no real life experiences. Others are mostly from other New England states, (especially Massachusetts) who had no desire to attend their state school. Also, there is barely any diversity.

We party all the time. We all hate UMaine.

People think that UNH is this huge party school. I mean if you want to find a party you can, but its not the only thing going on around campus. Most people apply here as their safety school because thye think it is really easy to get into and that it is a really easy school. But in reality, most people are working their butt off just to stay in school.
