What kind of person should not attend this school?

Caitlin

If a person is looking for an easy degree, then this school would not be their choice. The workload gets intense and teachers expect a lot from their students.

Jeffrey

People who wants to succeed in academics should probably not come to this school because University of North Texas has this gigantic party culture.

Tammy

Those people that are not willing to move forward in technology, business, or teaching career fields of study. All of these are constantly changing and it is important that you continue to stay current on the new trends, laws, and regulations.

Aaron

lindsay

Someone that is looking for a small university with more one on one time with professors

Rodrigo

People who are not ready to experience a professional and inspiring environment, including teachers, students, and others.

Jennifer

Someone who is open-minded and goal-driven. UNT is liberal and very much so "about the arts". I came from a small town and UNT was somewhat of a culture shock to me, but it really opened my eyes. Throughout my years at UNT, I have had to set goals and stick with them in order to make it through each semester feeling like I had done my best.

Danielle

I believe anyone who wants to attend should have the right to attend. Education is important to everyone and where they choose to attend is a very personal choice. UNT does not discriminate against anyone.

RochelleTrachier

Staunchly conservative, anyone who wants a good football team, people who don't like art or music

Candice

Michael

People who are interested in music or art should apply for this school. Their writing and journalism program is very good as well.

Jody

I think the school is diverse enough that anyone can attend.

Chelsea

Someone close-minded.

Morgan

Well, UNT is known for its music program primarily, but the department is very demanding and competitive. That is why some of the best musicians in the world have come out of UNT. It is also known for its journalism and art programs. Those are very competitive as well. So overall, because of the competitive nature of the school, I'd say those who are not motivated or passionate about what they want in a career are the ones who shouldn't attend. However, coming here may change his or her view...

Tim

Basically any person that is the way I am should not attend this school. There is a reason that the unfortunate events in the past happened at public schools [VA tech, etc]. Anyone who assumes they should be treated with a basic level of dignity and respect should not go here because they will find they are being treated like pigs in a cage.

Brian

The school is fairly versatile, but fundamentalist Christian conservatives could eaisly feel out of place. Also, people dedicated to composing tonal music will probably find qualms with the composition department in the College of Music, as it focuses on the more modern schools of composing, which are atonal.

Sarah

I wouldn't recommend this school to students who are unsure as to whether or not school is right for them; while UNT has a decent cost for a public univeristy, it is still not the least expensive. Generally speaking, I don't recommend larger universities for those financially restricted; community colleges are much more easily accessable for associates degrees which UNT wililngly accepts (for which I greatly appreciate). I'm glad I waited to go to UNT.

Joshua

The type of people that should not attend this school are those that are not environmentally friendly because North Texas takes great pride in staying green and being as environmentally friendly as possible.

Jamal

Conservatives.

Stephanie

Honestly, I believe any kind of person will fit in at UNT, because it's very diverse and there is a place for everyone.
