What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Heather

I think it's important to encourage the student to attend campus visits and over-nights stays if at all possible. I think it is also important to get in contact with someone attending the school that is not a part of the admissions staff to find out what life at that school is really like (including the negatives). Your college experience is what you make it. Find something that you can be involved in and try it out. Even if you are frustrated with your school, if you have found some niche it can be a great experience. Study hard, but remember to work in some social time. The friend memories are going to be the times that you remember years down the road, not so much the moments you studied in solitude. Just work hard, play hard, and find something you believe in and enjoy doing!
