a beautiful campus
It's a small school but a good one. Very nice people on campus. It's a beautiful campus.
University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown not only has a beautiful campus, but great academics as well. The campus is mostly covered with tall attractive trees and surrounded by open land and the woods. The buildings are of great condition and modern design. The professors at Johnstown try their best to not only teach the class well, but also keep the students involved and on there toes. The university also tries to get each student involved in numerous peer building exercises and community service.
The campus is very nice. Fall season in Johnstown is gorgeous, but winters are brutal. The class sizes here are very small which is nice. Faculty on campus, such as administrative positions are not vert helpful. Food, everyday, is a hit or miss, on campus. Off campus there is really nothing to do other than go to Walmart.

My preperation would include, first taking my academic classes more serious, second saving more money from my job to apply for college and third applying myself more in activities outside the classroom and possibly forming better friendships with those in my classrooms.
UPJ is a small, fairly descent, academic intitution set in the middle of a small, woodsy town.
Someone who is not serious about succeeding and learning to think critically. An individual that is not interested in being active socially probably would not feel comfortable at UPJ.
The campus can be very dead on the weekends. I go home every weekend because I live close, but I have heard from many people that the parking lots are empy on weekends.
My classmates tend to be lethargic and lackadaisical, they get their work done, but don?t enjoy or learn anything from it.
I wish that I would have know better study tactics before coming to the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. In my freshmen year, I seemed to be more focused on my social life than my academics and found myself cramming and struggling at the end of each semester in order to bring my grades up to where I expected them to be fore myself.
The school is best known for its commitment to teaching the students the best way to learn, and go about learning. Extra help is always available either by faculty or by tutors.
The staff they have makes the campus such a wonderful place. The professors work hands on to make sure everyone understands the topic at hand. If a student’s needs help they make sure they make time and work on a one to one level until that student understands fully and they are where they need to be with the class. This means a lot to the students. It’s not just the professors who make the campus great; the staffs in the offices are very helpful as well. They are very polite and eager to help anyone.
The most frustrating thing about school is the added stress of coming up with tution and living expenses on top of balancing my assignments in a timely fashion. It is very hard being away from home and adjusting to "adult life". While I knew realistically that things would never be easy, I never realized how much things would add up on my to-do list. However, the key to dealing with frustration is working to solve the problems causing it. Therefore, I have become more organized and work through my holiday breaks full-time to accomplish my goals.
We welcome everyone.
I feel that this school has something everyone could need. There are 80+ clubs at UPJ for individuals to join. We have everthing from soroities and fraternities, Language clubs such as french, german and spanish. There are Outdoor Clubs, Intramurals and so much more!
I tell my friends about how convenient the class sizes and professors are here. The class sizes range form 25-30 students per class so the professors really know personally. They can see when you are struggling with the class work and offer to help or refer you to someone who can help you. I really appreciate the fact that I'm not just another student in a class of 100+ students and that I can have an actual intellectual conversation with my professors.
