A lot of students complain about the rain. Sometimes Tacoma seems overcast from October through April. However, there are a fair share of sunny days in between this time, and last year, I biked to school during several sunny albeit crisp mornings during finals week in December. In general, the climate is mild, often staying between 40 and 70 degrees. This may require an adjustment for those coming from extreme climates, as was my case, but now I appreciate the temperate weather!
Probably the weather is the most common complaint, months upon months of a kind of grey haze doesn't do your tan any favors.
Mostly students complain about the weather. It does rain quite a bit here but it is not the same rain as a lot of other places. It does not downpour very often; most of the time it is a mist. You can walk from building to building without even getting wet. I don't even own a pair of rain boots and just bought my first rain coat. I am a huge beach bum and so a lot of people told me I would hate the weather here and I really don't mind it. If I can do it, you can too!
