What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

When I am speaking to my friends about the University of Rhode Island, I normally mention how good the engineering program I am in is, how friendly the students are, how big greek life is, and how great the parties are on the weekends.

The location is beautiful, right next to the beach and the campus is gorgeous. There's always something to do, and the opportunities at the University of Rhode Island are amazing. The school sets its students up for success and I'm very proud to say that I attend.

I brag about how nice everyone is on campus. Everyone talks to each other and gives advice. I also brag about the gym. The gym is very clean, large, and is a great environment to exercise in.

When I brag about my school to my friends I usually brag about how open the school is. To be more specific, at URI almost all the professors make the courses out so you decide how far you want to go and how much you want to learn. This style of teaching allows for me, as a student to essentially determine what I want my educational experience to be. This option pushes me to do the best that I possibly can and although it is tough at times if you dedicate yourself, you will succeed.

I Tell them its a completely different experience from high school and it has so much to offer ranging from academics, school programs, and even help with any subjects that anyone may be struggling in. The University of Rhode Island is a very diverse place with people from all over the world. Another Plus of going to the university of Rhode Island is that there are part time jobs for incoming students almost everywhere you look which is beneficial to those who intend to work during their time learning at URI.

The campus is beautiful and encourages students to study outside to maintain an overall balance for your mood. It is large so that you have many study spaces where you can go to be alone, yet at the same time, you always have to opportunity to run into someone you know. Take a walk and enjoy the grounds if you can. On another note, if you are going into Education, the teachers are spectacular and provide you with all the tools that you will need for your teaching career. They are willing to help you succeed by any means possible.

I tell everyone that the food is awesome, my teachers are definitely challenging me in all of my classes, and that I'm so happy that I get to play a division 1 sport; it makes your college experience 10 times better.

The College of Environmental and Life Sciences is great, with great professors and classes. The Marine Biology program is fantastic due to the university having the Graduate School of Oceanography, which is one of the best in the country. We are the only school in the country to have our own research vessel. There are tons of opportunities for students interested in marine science to work in research laboratories here.

When I brag about my school, I mention the professors. They all work very hard to ensure you are learning at an optimum level. They know what they are talking about and relay the information so that the students can easily understand. Although it is a fairly large school, the professors encourage one on one time with them or their teaching assistants.

URI has a very strong animal science deparment. The teachers are deacated to their profession and their students, offering a wide array of advice. There is a farm, Peckham farm, on campus that allows much hands on interaction with animals; such as sheep, chickens, goats, cows, pigs, a donkey, and a llama. The farm is very humane and those who maintain the farm are dedicated to provide the most fulfilling life for the animals that reside on it. URI provides a unique environment for those who are passionate for the creatures people share the world with.

When telling my friends about my school the most I brag about is academics and living on campus. There is always someone there to help you whenever help in needed. If struggling in any of your classes, there are plenty of people around you who have experience and can be there for you. On the other hand, living on campus is the best! There is always something to do and you will never be bored.

The International Engineering Program is an excellent program mixing both engineering and a language to earn dual degrees. Also the URI basketball games are very exciting and we are doing very well this season.

I love going to school in-state because I am far enough away from home that if I need to or want to go home I can. The size of the school is just perfect I never feel like it is too overwhelming. I have made plenty of friends throughout the past year and a half here at URI and can not see myself going anywhere else.

When it comes to bragging about my school, I have the biggest mouth. I brag about how close I am with my professors, how cool the URI101 class student mentors are, how I've learned so much in my psychology class and even how much I've learned about living on my own. Most of all, I have the most to tell about my exciting social life at URI. The school does a lot to provide activities for students on campus like multi-cultural week, concerts at the Ryan Center by my favorite artists and movies on the quadrangle.

I had not wanted to attened URI at all, but came here because of my financial situation. It really is what you make of it, and it offers just about everything you can imagine. Even if a club does not exist for what you are interested in, you have the freedom to make it happen if you want it. Overall, people are incredibly accepting and generous with their time, if you need it. You have the freedom to become who you want to be here.

I brag about the program I am in. The International Engineering Program combines a B.S. in an Engineering discipline with a B.A. in a foreign language. I chose German. It is a five-year program, and in the fourth year students travel to the country of their choice and do a semester of studying abroad and a semester of paid internship.

I tell them that it is really organized when it comes to your majors and the classes you need. A lot of help from advisors to help guide you in decison making process and give you what you need to succeed in your major. There are a lot of cool places to hang out and lots of entertainment- clubs and sports to keep you busy and plays and movie nights .

How great all the teachers are and how cool it is being a Film Major. The professors are extremely helpful, not just with course content but life deciscions. And they often times exceed the role of teachers and become great friends and useful contacts. I tell them about how great a variety of people there are so that there are always people to meet and there are always people that are cool and just right for you. Campus is great and i love living here. Lots of things to do if you just motivate yourself. There really are endless opportunities.
