University of Southern Maine Top Questions

I really enjoy the community at USM. Everyone is so welcoming from the Gorham campus to Portland the people are so nice and its really starting to feel like home. If it wasn't for the helpfulness and generosity of the school I wouldn't of been able to attend a four year college. I'm very thankful for the friendliness I have recieved.

The best thing about my school is that it's one of the safest campuses in Maine, so while the town it's located in isn't very big, you know you'll likely be safe there. This is an incredible step up from the school I transferred from.

I believe our school participation is great. We are able to raise each other up, and work together every day.

I think the best thing about my school is that they do everything they can to encourage you to interact with others and meet new people. There is never a dull day at this school. USM offers different activities every day.

The best thing I consider about my school is the diversity of people. Everyone is extremely accepting and it is a really easy place to be yourself and fit in. I have not met one person who has had trouble finding a secure group of friends here. I think that speaks a lot about the type of people the school accepts.

What I love about this school is the wide variety of new things available to me. USM offers a wide variety of clubs, intramural sports, fitness programs, and varsity sports, and students here seem more open to accepting new students into programs than the students in high school did. I feel like I have the freedom to try new things and meet new people here--there are many people here like myself and also many who are very different, which enriches my college experience, making it more than just an academic experience.

My program is very well developed, I like the facilities we have a lot.
