Why did you decide to go to this school?

Well for me I grew up in the Bahamas on a small island and during that time when I was graduating from high school. I didnt know about the Georgia Tech, Columbia Univ, Johns Hopkins, Cornell Univ., Carnegie Mellon and the other top schools. My best friend and I wanted to go to college together so we both wanted a school that offered both of our majors. My best friend's cousin attended VCU for dance and VCU's school of the arts is a very good school. So we applied to 2 particular schools Baylor and VCU we were accepted to VCU and that's how ended up deciding on VCU. What also influenced my decision was because it was far from home. I did want to be somewhere different and I didn't want to go to school in Florida which is pretty much like Caribbean central LOL. So different is definitely what I got, it was hard the first few months adjusting to seeing snow rather than sand and dealing with the cold winters but I did adjust and I definitely don't regret my decision in choosing VCU. The friends I have made the professors I've met, the enjoyment of living in Virginia has been a great experience. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

I was accepted into every school I applied to, but I chose to attend VCU because of its nationally-ranked art program. The program is nationally ranked for a reason, it is very strenuous and challenging so I chose to change my major to pre-law. I chose to stay at VCU because it is one of the only schools in (probably) the nation where I can have 2 majors and 2 minors, study abroad twice (maybe 3 times!), and an internship at the Virginia Capitol! There are so many opportunities here that other schools don't offer so I chose to stay at VCU.
