Washington State University is a large research school that focuses on preparing students to find real jobs once they graduate, mainly in the fields of business, communications, and agriculture, that has an active social scene on campus comprised of both greeks and non-greeks, with tons of school spirit, fun stuff to do, and a beautiful location right in the middle of the Palouse.

WSU is a great place to do research and get a great education, but it is also a fun place to party!

My university offers multiple courses of study which are consistently ranked among the best in the nation--Top 20 or better. The overall approach to education is traditional and conservative, however, there is a strong Distance Learning component that is well-respected, if limited in its course of study options. Throughout the campus community there is a strong ethical code and environmentally-conscious"core culture" that crosses all categories (staff, alumni, students, faculty). The university graduate school has a strong research component, while the primary undergraduate focus is strong academic performance with the Critical Thinking Rubric at its foundation.

WSU is a place to start a new life, to find yourself and reach as high as you can imagine; a place to make your nest as you see fit with the integration of everything you ever dreamed of putting into a dream home.

It's a quaint school with lots of school spirit, things to do, lots of partying, and yet still a place to get a good education.

A medium-sized school in a small town tucked away in the middle of nowhere -- which is exactly what makes WSU special, because being relatively secluded means everyone form a huge, lifetime bond with the town, the campus, the university, the other students, and being a Coug.

My school was actually the Vancouver campus of WSU which was not given as a choice in the drop down menu on this survey, so I would say small.

Washington State University is a great place for students to go to advance their education, while still keeping in touch with the small town feeling that everyone is looking after eachother.
