Someone who is shy, not outgoing, and not interested in learning or trying new things. They wouldnt do very well here, they would most likely feel isolated and now do well in their classes.

If you are looking for a research-based school, this is not the school for you. Some research is required for certain assignments and/or projects; however, it is not required very often.

Since Pullman is such a small town, anyone who does not feel comfortable living away from a bigger city should probably not attend Washington State University, even though the student population is fairly large. From my experience there, WSU is quite ethnically diverse, with large groups or foreign students. If someone does not feel comfortable with that, WSU is probably not a good choice for them.

No one, everyone should give it a shot.

A person who is very religious and does not like partying.

Any student can attend this school, there are services for students with disabilities, who are poor, minorities, athletes, artists, etc. I think all kinds of students can attend this school and achieve their goals. You attend Pullman as a naive teenager, you graduate as an educated adult with social experiences and lifelong friends.

People who have difficultes with stairs and/or hills should not attend this school. Many of the dorms so not have elevators, so are not handicap accessible.

If you need the "city" feeling in your life, you should not attend Washington State University, at Pullman. The city of Pullman is the university. Pullman caters to the students in so many ways. There is a bowling alley, fast food, quaint coffee places, and a Wal-mart, but not much else. WSU focuses on being a community of students and faculty, rather than a vast expanse of concrete jungle that could surround a university. Being a student here in Pullman means that you have less fancy distractions, and more learning and a sense of community.

The type of person that shouldn't attend this school would be someone who doesn't study and doesnt really pay attention in school. This is because when someone comes to this school and doesnt have good study habits they arent going to get that far in their studies and are just going to fail college.

Anyone can enter this school is a place where anyone can succeed it all depends on the person. There's enough help and personnel out there to help anyone

A person who isn't willing to put in their greatest effort and not take school seriously as an academic and a professional. College is an incredible step in an individual's life and should be fun, but also challenging. If you are incapable of delivering your best performance and doing your best, it is probably best to wait until you are ready, or pursue other avenues such as trade schools or skipping the college step.

Like with all higher education you need to be prepared and dedicated for the workload. Those people who aren't prepared, shouldn''t apply.

Washington State University is home to a very diverse community. People from all walks of life, young and old, from one side of the world to another, are encouraged to further their educations here. Organizations encourage campus diversity and its acceptance and tolerance on campus and in the classroom. The Pullman campus is quite rugged and most of the campus buildings are on top of hills. As a result, physically disabled students may find commuting on campus challenging, especially in the winter. However, accomodations are often made for the disabled.

Maybe someone who really wanted to have the campus life of what a on-campus student housing situation would have offered.

If your a person who doesnt like to be far away from home or away from family or in a secluded area then this school is not for you.

In my opinion the kind of person who should not attend this school is the kind of person who prefers a quiet environment. Someone who is very shy and introverted. Washington State University is a very socially oriented school, and the majority of the student body are outgoing and can seem aggressive to some people who prefer a calmer environment. My roommate is a very shy person and she has told me multiple times that if she didn't have me, she would've left the university years ago.

Someone who does not drink alcohol, enjoy the cold or like big clases.

WSU is an diverse and accepting school. Strangers will look at you and smile or nod as you pass on the way to class. The only people that should not attend Washington State University are those that are not willing to work hard for an education and uphold the Cougar standard.

People that just want to party and are not academically focused.

Someone who prefers liberal arts to college sports. This school is very centered around its athletic department. Also, the campus is built on hills, so if are really lazy and you dont like to climb hills this is not the school for you. This is also a party school, but it is very possible to stay away from that scene if you chose to.

A person shouldn't attend this school if they don't like being away from a large city. Washington State University is located in Pullman, and is definitely a college town. The whole atmosphere of the community is dedicated to the school and caters to students. The university is the center of the town, literally every road leads to campus. If you aren't a fan of snow or extreme heat I would also recommendnot attending, we experience the extremes of all seasons.

Someone that needs the city life, or will not be used to not having diversity will not like this school.

A person who is more interested in a technical or trade school should not have WSU as his or her first choice. Also, it is not the best place to come if you desire a large city setting or are overly enthusiastic about football.

People that like the big city life. People that hate drinking and parties. People that hate long drives to anywhere.

WSU is a great school for any individual. There are quite a few that aren't greatly pleased with this university. The kind of people that probably wouldn't be as happy as others in this university are the ones that don't like walking a lot, don't like hills, and like to live in a small community. Here at WSU you have to walk a lot. To get from one end of the campus to the other takes anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes depending on how fast you walk.

Someone who likes to do something OTHER than drink.

A person looking to slack their way through college shouldn't attend WSU. We may be known as a party school, but the curriculum is much tougher than our reputation leads you to believe. If you don't attend class daily, you will not succeed here.

[Note, that I refer to the Tri-City campus of WSU, not Pullman] A professor that I am in a book club with commented how as time goes on, professors are encourages to inflate grades to create the illusion of success. I cannot tell you how saddened we are, by how today you can buy a degree without working for it. Students who want to slack should not come to WSU, but if you are afraid of collefe life, know that professors at WSU want you to learn, they'll help you not just get a degree, but earn it.

Someone who is not very motivated shoult not attend Washington State University . At this university you must be determined to do well in your classes or else you will fall behind and your grades will suffer. Washington State is a very social place and there are many things that go on here that can be distracting. A student who is motivated will be able to balance their schoolwork as well as their social lives.

A person who is straight laced and is looking for a totally academic experience should not attend Washington State University. The environment is often energetic and enthusiastic about sports and other extra curricular activities.

This is definitely not the school for city people. This is a rural, college town, which is about 1.5 hours from a big city. During the summer and school holidays, there is rarely much to do because most of the activities are put on by the school during the school year.

The type of people that should not attend this school are people who do not appreciate studying. People who do not care about school are just taking that opportunity from people who actually care. Also it is just a waste of their time and money.

People that attend this school need to understand how to balance socail life and school. They also need to be aware that it is time to take responsibility for themselves and their actions. My university is well known for being a "party school" It is true that the socia network here is very strong and that there are a lot of opportunities to become distracted from school work, The university offers great help for those struggling and anyone who attends needs to be confident in the resources provided.

This school would be very hard for a person that is used to the luxuries of urban city life especially if they are a minority.

The school focuses on Communications, Engineering, and Agriculture, so people not interested in those have slim pickings. Though almost any type of person can find a niche at WSU.

Since I attend the vancouver campus, there isn't a great amound of social opportunites. If you're looking to go to college for the "dorm room-college party" expereince you won't find it here. The students here are commited to learning and very focused on getting a job after graduation and making better lives for themselves. There is an empahsis on academic acheivment and research at this school

If you like the san fransico/ seattle liberal side, this probably isn't the best place. However, if you are career oriented and want to get a strong degree in science, agriculture or buisness you will probably do well here. There is only one mall near by and entertainment must be sought out rather than provided. Also- you shouldn't come here if you're not comfortable in -10F weather or driving in the snow. :P

Someone who is not very social and lacks enthusiam for their work.

I would never say that a student shouldn't come to this school, but if a student does not like large class sizes it is probably the wrong place for them. If a student is not technology savy this school would be tough because a large majority of studying comes from the internet and computer based research.

Someone who is completely innocent of the things that go on in party schools and is not able to keep from caving to peer pressure. Someone who is just dinking around before they know what they want to do in life. This school is much to expensive for that! That's what a community college is for.

The type of person that should not attend Washington State University is one that can not function without a fast pace city near by. Pullman is secluded from everything, but most people love that about it. But if the idea of living and breathing your school where ever you go is scary, then Pullman life if not for you.

Anyone who doesn't like to challenge new things. Anyone would doesn't try to open up their minds. There is a lot going on here at this campus, so if you can't organize your social life and academic life, you won't succeed. You have to take initiative for everything that you do. A lot of the resources are open and available, but if you don't take the chance or opportunity, you won't take full advantage of it.

Someone that is strongly against partying, having a good time, and someone who hates snow.

Someone who is against drinking and loves the city. pullman is a small town and if you're used to the city it will be a huge culture shock. there are different things to do around here

The kind of person who shouldnt attend this school is someone who is completely focused on partying and not on academics. There is heavy partying here but if the student cannot find their balance between learning and their weekend they will fail. You also have to be able to buckle down and get homework done, even when there are 100 other things that are so much more appealing than cracking a book open. In other words, a procrastinator, in my experience, does not do well here.

No one, there is enough diversity that anyone should be able to find a group of like-minded students.

People that cannot stand small towns or farmlands. It is more for those that are able to step out of their comfort zone. People need to make an effort to find the things that they like to do, since this school provides a large amount of events for everyone to enjoy. The biggest complaint I hear from people is that there is nothing to do, when in actuality there is always something to do on campus, you just need to delve into what you enjoy.
