To some, cheerleading hasn’t always been perceived as athletically challenging compared to other sports. However, if you take a look at the gymnastics involved in some of these routines, it’s hard to ignore that cheerleaders are athletes, too. In fact, there are several colleges and organizations that recognize this talent and offer college scholarships to cheerleaders. While most schools rely on actual tryouts rather than participation in high school or on a private league, there are several different types of scholarship opportunities available if you can dance, tumble, and cheer. This list of cheerleading scholarships is a great way to start your search if you plan to have school spirit on the cheer squad at your college or university.
