While it’s probably pretty easy to find what you’re looking for in the Mall of America, not everyone knows where to start a search for free college dollars. If you are a Minnesota resident or student, you won’t have to visit your famous mall to find these awards. We’ve compiled this directory of scholarships for Minnesota residents to help make your search a little easier. If you don’t currently live in Minnesota but plan to attend one of its colleges, such as: the University of Minnesota (U of M), Carleton College, University of St. Thomas, or Minnesota State University, be sure to check out this list of awards for the chance to add some free college dollars to your savings, too.

This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students in Northwestern Indiana, Northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa who are planning to major in engineering and pursue a career in iron and steel technology. Applicants must be AIST Midwest Chapter members or dependents of AIST Midwest Chapter members.
This award is open to female college sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and graduate students who are majoring in engineering or computer science and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Students must be members of SWE and attend a school within the SWE Region H boundaries.
This scholarship is available for Houston-area residents who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher and demonstrate unmet financial need.
This award is available for currently enrolled U.S. college sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students. Students must be pursuing a degree in music therapy or interning for music therapy, and must attend a school accredited by the American Music Therapy Association.
U.S. first- and second-year college students who are attending select universities and demonstrate high academic achievement are eligible for this award.
High school seniors and transfer students who are not residents of Idaho and are planning to enroll at Lewis-Clark State College for the first time are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must plan to enroll full time.
Current undergraduate students who live or go to school in Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, or Iowa are eligible to apply for these awards.
This scholarship is open to U.S. college sophomores, juniors, and seniors of American Indian or Alaskan Native descent who attend school or reside in CA, CO, CT, FL, IL, MN, or TX. Students must be majoring in business, accounting, computer science, computer technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or a related field; have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; and have demonstrated financial need.
U.S. incoming freshmen who are not residents of Kentucky and demonstrate financial need are eligible for this award. Students must attend Bellarmine University in Kentucky.
