This award is for U.S. students who are enrolled full-time at a public community, junior or city college. Students must submit three short essays addressing the questions provided in the scholarship application.

One scholarship winner with an imaginative and well-written response to the scholarship question about the Zombie Apocalypse will receive a $2,000 scholarship.

The Education Matters Scholarship is open to any applicant who is 13 years of age or older and is a legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. The scholarship committee will select the winner based on the creativity and originality of the submitted written response to the scholarship question each year.
