Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  4. Must be majoring in behavioral health science.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors who are planning to major in behavioral health sciences such as counseling, psychology, social work, nursing, or a related field.

Additional Information: In an effort to help those who are helping others, American Addiction Centers (AAC) is excited to offer three scholarships for students majoring in the field of behavioral health, such as counseling, psychology, social work, nursing, or related sciences. Applications will primarily be evaluated on the quality of essays, and awards will be announced by late June.

Award Amount: $5,000 for first place, $2,500 for second and third. All awards are provided annually and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,333.

Applications and information about this award is available online at the American Addiction Centers website using the link provided. To be considered for an award, students must complete an online application form that includes personal contact information, educational information, and the applicant's intended college. In addition, students must submit an essay of up to 800 words describing why the applicant wishes to pursue a higher education in the behavioral health sciences. All applications and essays must be submitted online on or before the listed deadline date.
