Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based upon the number of qualified applicants. Any student meeting the criteria will receive the award until funding is depleted.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must plan to attend Beloit College in Wisconsin.
  4. Must be enrolled full time.
  5. Must be a National Merit Finalist.
  6. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  7. Must plan to attend a college or university in Wisconsin.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S high school seniors who have been named a finalist by the National Merit Corporation and have indicated that Beloit College is their first choice. The student must plan to attend Beloit College in Wisconsin full time.

Application requirements for the Beloit College Founders Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Recommendation letter
  • Official Transcript
  • School Report
  • SAT/ACT scores
Additional Information: The Founders Scholarships recognize students who have been selected as National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Corporation. To be eligible for the award, students should advise the National Merit Corporation that Beloit College is their first-choice school.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,000.

Admissions application instructions are available online on the Beloit College website at www.beloit.edu/prospective/apply/firstyearapplicants/ . Beloit College uses the Common Application as its admissions application, which is available online at www.commonapp.org . In addition to the Common Application, the student must also submit the following: a Beloit College Supplement (part of the Common Application); a School Report, completed by a college advisor or guidance counselor); secondary school transcripts; a teacher recommendation, preferably from someone who has taught him/her within the last year; and official SAT or ACT scores. If the student's first language is not English, he/she must also submit TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores. It is expected that the student will submit the School Report and teacher recommendation via the Common Application. However, Beloit College will also accept those materials by mail, by fax, or in PDF format emailed to [email protected] At his/her option, the student may also complete an interview, submit additional letters of recommendation, and/or submit a creative piece. The deadline to apply for admission is Jan. 15 annually.
