Aurora University Top Questions

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Keith

Short and sweet. It's always tempting to put off responsibility in exchange for a good time. However, there is ample time post graduation to have fun and enjoy life. Make those individuals a priority, who make you a priority. You will get out of learning what you put in so study something you truly enjoy. Listen to elders but be cautious. Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. Your decision to serve the country by participating in your institutions ROTC program was one of the best you ever made. Give your all in everything you do in both your professional life, and your personal life. If you ever start to worry about the path you are on just remember the image of me (standing before you).

Meagan

Advice to Meagan as a high school senior: Apply for as many scholarships as possible! Even if you think there’s a small chance of winning, put your best effort into every application. Scholarships are important and can secure your educational plans. Once you are in college, the last thing you want to worry about is money or how you’re going to pay for school. This could be distracting and could discourage you from following your dreams. To prevent this from happening, search online and you will find all kinds of scholarships, also, ask your teachers or counselors about scholarships to apply for. Have your transcripts ready to send because some scholarships require them, but don’t ever pay for a scholarship application. Have your application proofread by peers and teachers before you send it, because you may have trouble noticing your own mistakes. Make time for these tips and it will pay off later on.

When i was in high school i was not sure what i want to do in the future. I went to university to study Hotel and Restaurant management. Then I decided i do not want to work in this industry and i decided to study something else. i even wanted to go to law school but many people tald me i should choose something else. Now I study Accounting in Aurora University and I think I made a perfect decision. I would give device to myself and everyone else who is in high school and thinking to go to college that they have to think what they really want to do in the future and choose a major thet they will enjoy to study in college and will love to work in this industry. Many students now choose major because they think it will give them the opportunity to make a lot of money in the future, but they do not think they will enjoy or not. I think students schoulf persue the education in the major thet they will enjoy to work in but not the profeccion thet will gurantee a high incime.

Britt

If I could go back as a high school senior I would tell myself to make huge changes in my education decisions. I would have had myself apply for scholarships. The reason I did not apply for scholarships back when I was a high school senior or before then was because I was scared. I now know there is nothing to be afraid about college. The classes are more difficult, but more interesting and captivating for me. College is really enjoyable. If I was senior I would know there is nothing to afraid about. I would have made sure to I applied for scholarships and not go to school that just offers an associates because I scared I could not afford a university. There are so many scholarships out there I should have applied for, that would have covered a university tuition. I would have told myself that because now friends' that go to big universities have a lot more interesting and fun stories to tell then I do. I would have told not be scared and really apply myself to finding scholarships and a university I want to go to because I really wish I would have now.

Dahai

If I could could go back in time I would tell myself to graduate from a regular high school and not get a GED. I would also look for more scholarships so that I don't have to worry about it in the future.

Maribel

I would first go back and tell myself to read! I never liked to read and there is so much reading in college it is not even a joke. If you do not keep up with the readings you will definetly be lost in class and fail quizzes. I would then give myself the advice to get my drivers license! I did not know how important it was to have a drivers license until I went to school. My school is small and it is very hard to find rides to the local grocery store. This applys to big schools as well. I am sure you can find a ride easier but when you need time to yourself and just want to go home, having a car and your license is the best thing to just have. The final thing I would tell myself is to make sure I go into college picking a major of undecided. I thought I wanted education but their is so much going on with the educational system that I changed my major. If you are sure then be absolutely sure or else be undecided. Thats the advice I would give myself back in highschool.

Cynthia

If I could go back in time to being a high school senior, I would definitely want to attend more orientations and activities that my university hosts for incoming freshmen. Although I was very active in high school, I was nervous and scared about college. I was shy in attending the activities the university hosted since I felt so attached to high school and my friends. I felt scared in knowing I had to start all over and make new friends. I had so many questions running through my mind like what if I don't make friends or what if college is hard and I fail? Now that I'm in college I realized that we have to be open to new oportunities because we will learn so much from it and about ourselves. My university has provided me with a great college experience. Though my classes and organization that I am in I have formed great relationships, and I am proud of where I am today. Although graduation is quickly approaching, I am excited for the next chapter in my life. I have learned to not be scared, and instead be open to the opportunities life gives me.

Luc

I would tell myself to stop hanging out with people who would rather chase a high than chase a goal. That I am testibly smart enough to get an engineering degree and that I should follow that dream from the start. I would like to let myself know that hard work is the way to happiness and not the enemy. I would also like to tell him the proper weight lifting techniques and to always wear my ankle braces while playing ball. This to avoid future injuries. I would also try to implore him to not just go with the flow and the easiest path that his friends go on. It's not the correct on and won't lead the best possible outcomes. FInally I'd tell him to start having relationships sooner and stop with the meaningless dating. All this just so I could get to happiness a little bit quicker.

Jesus

Knowing about the college life now, i would immediately convince my past self to apply for scholarships right away and in great quantities. Graduating at rank 11 and the top 5{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of my high school, applying for scholarships should have been a given, but instead I neglected the idea and left it up to finanicial aid to support my college endevors; a mistake that I wish I could change at any moment. With scholarships I could have potentially recieved, I could have earned enough extra money to place into my savings, which would then be funding my future schooling when I pursue my Masters Degree in Chemsitry in order to become a pharmacist. Another piece of advice I would give to myself would be to take every class as if it were the hardest class on my schedule, regardless of difficulty. I was able to finish my first year of college with a 4.0, but I felt like some work I completed could have been done better if I had gone into the year with that type of mindset.

Angelica

Angelica, please remember that you need to set priorities. Do not procrastinate. Homework and studying come before anything. Work is important because I understand you need to pay for college, but remember once you receive your diploma no one can take it back. The knowledge you will receive in the four years of college you will always have. Also save up money, just because you have a bill statement from your college or university it does not mean that is what you will pay for. There is still the costs of books, extra food, shampoo, other expenses that are not shown in the bill statement. Do not forget about gas. You are going to be driving from school and to work, save money. You will go out and you will want to spend money. Remeber while you are in college different expenses may pop up, like medical expenses, cold medicine expenses and such. Be ready for a long semester of school, work, homework, social life, drama, friends, parents, and much more that will in it's totality lead to a lot of stress. But do not fret, you will make it. Just stay positive and you will be fine.

Autumn

If I could go back in time and talk to my high school senior self, I would tell myself to never give up and to keep pushing on with your educational dreams. I would tell myself that your high school grades do not determine where you can go. As a high school student, learning did not come easy to me. It was a daily struggle between myself and my parents. I feel that my high school senior self entered college with a chip on her shoulder, thinking that I was not smart enough. Although I over came that, it made the transition from high school to college extremely difficult for me. I would encourage my high school self to enter college optimistic, motivated, and eager to learn. Do not allow your high school struggles to continue to hold you back. Do not let the negativity prevent you from the education you deserve. Tell yourself that you are smart and you are capable of going after any degree you want. Your only competitor is yourself. Ignore the other people around you and ignore the past. Set your goals for the future and do not stop until you get there.

Lyle

I never made it to being a senior, but I have often thought about how I wish I would have had the knowledge then that I do now about the importance of my education and how vital it is to being successful in your professional adult life. I would explain what the reprocussions can be if you choose not to pursue a college education and how difficult that choice can make your adult life. I would also make sure I understood how great my potential is to be great and how I stand the chance to make a big difference, not just in my life, but in the lives of others around me. I would tell myself that college is very different from high school and that it is driven more by the individual than by the group and that it would allow me to establish the responsibility for myself and the independence that I will desire. Lastly, I would tell myself that I am highly capable of achieving any educational goal that I choose to persue because I am mentally strong enough and smart enough to overcome any obstacle put before me, especially when it comes to my education.

salvador

I would give my self the advice of gaining as much knowledge as i can in high school to better prepare my self for the college classes. I would be more focused on my studying skills and learn how to manage my education priorities. I would also tell my self to adopt reading as a leisure activity to expand my vocabulary. College requires basic education require ments but its never hurts to know more. I believe that the more knowledge you have, defines how valuable you are.

Luke

If I could go back in time and tell myself something, I would let the old me know that he should apply himself. He would be very surprised at the results. I never cared in high school. To be honest I slept most of the time. Once I got to college, I knew I had to change so I bunkered down and actually found that I am very smart. I am only done with my first semester but I got straight A’s, which is a good start. I regret the lack of enthusiasm I showed in high school now that I know what I really can do. I love when other people ask me questions in class. I love seeing all my hard work pay off with a good grade. I love when I break the curve even though other people would have liked me to score a bit lower. I cannot change the past but I can change the future. If I could go back in time, I would tell my past self to stop being someone he is not. I would tell him to open his mind and learn.

Nicole

Advice: Have fun in high school and treasure those memories because once college begins that is when reality hits. College is where your life as a young adult begins and forms your future. You want to look back at your high school memories and be able to laugh at every moment because high school you can never return to, but college is always there for you to succeed and apply too. Go to college with a strong mind and do not allow anyone to tell you that you can not do it because you can do anything you fully put your heart into. No matter what happens do what will make you happy in life because your career is the basic foundation that will help you grow as an individual as a whole.

Anwar

High School Anwar, theatre is going to be a big part of your life in the future. It's going to give you that creative juice you need to make it through the day. You don't know this but it's the only thing you'll ever see yourself doing. Take advantage of the theatre oppurtunities the high school has to offer. It'll give you the foundation that many of the other majors already possess. It'll give you a support system before your college friends. It'll make your transition that much easier.

Krista

First of all i would have chose to go straight to college rather than beauty school. Secondly I would let students know to just calm down about leaving friends and family, every one elso around you is going through the same thing, make some friends and finally just get to know your teachers get the help you need and stay focused.

Jose

If i was able to go back in time the first thing i would tell myself would be not to worry. Everything is going to turn out ok. I would let myself know that college isnt as hard as the high school teachers make it seem, if anything i will be the best time of my life. I want myself to know how important it is to try hard my senior year of highschool and not to fall into the temptation of becoming lazy. I would also let myself know that the consolers don't always know what they're talking about and can send you in the wrong direction if you're not smart. But the most important thing i want to let myself know would have to be that as long as i try my best the outcome will be great.

Jessica

If I were to go back in time and talk to my senior self I would tell myself to apply to as many schools as possible no matter what state it may be. The school you picked is not a bad school but it is not the right school for you. It is ok for you to transfer it doesn't mean you failed at anything. You'll transition into different places just fine.

Ricardo

I would tell myself to go into the Marines as soon as I graduate so I can start attending college as soon as my active duty contract was over. I would tell myself to enroll in Aurora University as a freshman instead of attending a community college first. I would tell myself to attend full time instead of working full time and attending school part time. I would tell myself to take my education more seriously and quit half stepping through life.

Jessica

I would tell myself not to worry so much! The first year was a little rough because I missed my friends from high school (it's normal), but it gets better! Get involved on campus since you're a commuter. Make sure to make friends in all of your classes that way if you miss a day there is somone to lend you their notes. Plus, chances are that person (or those people) will become your best friend(s)! Form study groups with the people you sit near in your classes. Exchange numbers with these people, it will come in handy! Always bring snacks! You never know when a class will run long and won't be able to eat. Have a budy to walk to your car with (you'll both be safe). Register for classes ASAP! You don't want to get stuck taking classes you don't need or AM classes all week long. Be on top of your finacial aid forms and fill out FAFSA asap!!! But most importantly have fun! Before you know it you'll be graduating and have to be a real grown up! Be confident and enjoy every minute of college!

Brittany

If I could go back and talk to myself as a high school student, I would advise myself to practice a wider range of study habits in order to more extensively prepare myself for exams at the college level since I have learned firsthand how detailed and comprehensive they tend to be in comparison to high school tests. I would also have made sure to improve my study habits in order to prepare for college exams since I have learned that they are so important in determining my educational and professional future, whereas high school tests aren't nearly as extensive and deterministic of the future on a professional level. In addition, I would also have advised and encouraged myself to have more frequently made use of available academic resources such as reference books, librarians, and other numerous resources available in the library to further my knowledge on specific subjects. By taking part in more extensive study habits and taking advantage of available academic resources, the transition from being a high school student to being a college student would have been less stressful by a great amount and therefore would have gone over much more smoothly!

Sarah

Really research your options both financially and academically. My first thought out of high school was that I wanted to get away from home so I went to Illinois State my first year. However, I now realize that it was a mistake. I did not learn much and had no real direction, therefore wasted almost $20,000. I knew it was too expensive especially since I was paying for it myself. Once I switched to Aurora everything changed. It is not quite as expensive and they really helped me get on track for knowing what I want to do with my life. I cannot explain how grateful I am to this school for providing exactly what I needed. Also, scholarships are going to be your best friend. College is not cheap whether you pay for it or someone pays for you. Either way, everyone can use the help so take advantage of those opportunities.

Amber

I would tell senior self to be more open minded. When I was a high school senior I didn't understand the importance of furthering my education and I didn't know what I wanted to do. When I initially began attending a junior college I didn't give it my best effort because I felt lost. Taking those general education courses helps you find you passion; earning your degree helps you build your life around it. I would also tell myself to give everything my very best effort, earning a 4.0 GPA at the end of the semester is highly rewarding. I learned in my college career that I am capable of so much more than I ever thought possible.

Elias

If I could go back in time and give myself advice it would be to do better in high school. If my grades from high school were better i could have received more financial aid to help me cover the costs of college. I wasnt really focused on school then and didnt care to attend college. The only thing that mattered to was to play soccer and that would help me get through school and it did. The only reason I decided to continue with college was because i wanted to represent a university on the field. Now that i have attended college I understand how important an education is and have taken the term student athlete serious. First comes student and athlete is second.

Destanie

If I can go back and tell myself what I know now about college I would tell myself study hard. I would make sure that I would study and stay focused in school because college is all about studying and staying focused. I would also tell myself to get ready for late nights and coffee because of the study nights. College will not be easy but if I can achieve my dream and keep it in mind that its not to far I can achieve anything, thats what I'd tell myself as well.

Daniel

I would tell myself to look into everything that each school has to offer. The first school that I attended was the only school that I toured out of high school, and I made the decision because I had a major scholarship to attend that University. However, when I got to the school, I was very unhappy with what the school had to offer, and most importantly, I was disappointed in the major that they offered. Now, at my school in Aurora, IL, I have a completely different outlook on college. I am happy with the student life and activities, and I love my major. I am confident that I will be successful in my future career because I am very well prepared at this University. With this in mind, my advice would be to not make my decision based on finances, make the decision that will best prepare yourself for the future so that you can succeed in anything that you wish to do.

Kathryn

If I were to go back in time and be able to give advice to my high school self there is a lot that I would say. The most important piece of advice I would give is to focus on myself and do not let other people get to me because they will effect me and my career as your student. I would tell myself that there will be a lot of obstacles between me and my degree but I am strong enough to push through it and finish my degree with the high standards I set for myself. Also, I would tell myself to remain calm because working part time and being a full time student can make me feel stressed. However, I need to remain focused on my goals and continue working hard. Lastly, I would emphasize that I am brilliant and can do anything and everything I put my mind to. I am strong and will succeed in life no matter what obstacles are created for me.

Raquel

The biggest advice would be to talk to the school counselors and let them help me find the right school for me. Use my resources and start early in my search for the right college. Also visit more schools and focus on more than just rather or not they had a good soccer team. Take AP classes seriously, having those extra credits was nice and I could of had more if I focused my senior year. Last but not least don't sweat it! College is awesome and nothing like high school. The academic level is more intense, but not impossible. I second guessed going to college quite a bit and I am so happy I did. I feell I am a way more educated, well-rounded person thanks to college.

Nicholas

After finding myself playing a game on the computer, I would spin the chair around and remind the man in the chair of the dreams he has. I would demand an answer on how to achieve those goals, and ask how is waiting going to accomplish that? I would then tell him examples of how undriven and unfocused people not only waste their own time and money but the time and money of those around them. I would exhort him to take up the mouse and keyboard of his own life and control where he is going next. There will be mistakes, but those are what make life worth living. Do not give up on what you know is right. Games and life are similar you never get anything until you join in. Follow your dreams, and stick with one untill you have completed it before you move on to the next. Good luck and see you in the mirror.

Salvador

If I could talk to myself as a high school senior, I would go and tell myself to step up to the plate and be better in school. To actually learn more about core classes, and no so much electives like I did. I would tell myself to not stop believing, and stop being lazy, and apply to others schools. The transition is not that bad if you are confident, but it could be scary, coming into a different environment. And that college is not the game we see in movies and the teachers don't explain it like it really is. The truth is the main mistakes I did in high school, were not in my senior year but I would definitely tell myself as a high school senior to try and make up for all that lost time. So at the end when he is in my position, writing this essay, he is regret free.

Diana

College is not the end-all be-all. Take your year off and don't be ashamed about it. Think about what's really important. Grades aren't important, learning is. Essays aren't important, telling people about something you care about in an informed manner is. You will meet people who will hate you for no reason. Be painfully nice to them. Read every day. Listen to music every day. Call your mother every day. Things are about to zoom past you faster than you are willing to realize. Stop. Take a look around. Gather yourself. You're about to go on an adventure.

Melanie

My biggest advice would be to do everything you can as a high school student and beef up a resume because those expierences will definetly help in the future and it will keep you open minded when getting to college. You could carry those expectations from different clubs and activities to college and possibly do the same things there. It is a wonderful opportunity to branch out into new directions and expierence the world from a new perspective. The life long friends and memories you will make are a blessing and although I participated in some activities, there are some that I didn't and now looking back I really wish that I had while the oppotunity was still at hand.

Valerie

If I could go back in time and talk to my high school self I would emphasize the importance of becoming an educated person. Being a part of this learning community has made me realize how critical it is to be able to view situations and issues through different lenses. Understanding views other than my own helps me make better informed decisions in all areas of life. When I first began my college experience, I was just going through the required motions and taking the required classes to reach the goal of graduation; frequently putting my social life before my education. In retrospect, I would tell my highschool self to absorb the full process of becoming an educated person and realize the importance of giving thought to opinions and views that conflict with my own.

Natalia

I would really focus more on getting all A's in all of my classes, and prepare more for the ACT test to get more scholarship money in college. I would do more ready and practice more writting. I would apply for scholarschips online, and do more vollenturing. I would encourge students to get into a table tennis club, and try to make it a college sport.

Denitza

If I had the ability to go back in time I would tell myself not to panic. I wish I had an adult sit me down and tell me that no matter what college I choose to go to I can always change my decision. I wish I had someone tell me that you can always change the road you're on. I wish someone told me that it's okay not to know your major going in. Your college decision does not have to be a death sentence. It sure felt that way to me. I had numerous adults put pressure on me and it had a negative affect. I chose a college close to home instead of venturing out. Although my college experience is alright, I would have done things differently if I had a more positive influence from those around me. High school does a terrible job preparing students for college because teachers and counselors assume they CAN prepare you. They CAN'T. It's up to you to figure it out and that is perfectly okay. You don't have to have it all together. Things will work out one way or another.

Christina

If I could go back, I wish I would have had a set goal in mind. My advisor didn't help me very much, and because of her, I have to wait an extra year until medical school. Always listen to your professors. They're more understanding than you think, and as long as you put an effort into your class, they will help you. Stay involved, meet people, smile, and say hello. Don't be afraid to ask questions in class either. Keep your GPA high, and never be afraid to call your parents when you're feeling sad. Find the study techniques that work best for you and stick to them. Read ahead in your books. Enjoy every day. Laugh a lot. Don't only focus on school in college, there is much more to it. Use prezi, it impresses your professors. Take pictures. Get off campus every now and then. Plan one fun thing a week. Hang out in the "cool spot" on campus. Don't get the most expensive meal plan because you will not use every meal. Don't become a roommate with a friend. Become friends with your professors.

Perla

If I had the opportunity to go back in time to when I was a high school senior, I would advise myself to not procrastinate and use my time wisely. Even though some professors give us a week or two to complete an assignment, it is never okay to start on it a few days before. I would tell myself that a social life is also not all that. There will always be social gatherings, but school work and grades definitely come first. I would also tell myself to never give up no matter how tough something may be. To not be afraid of asking for help when needed and to always do my best.

Jeri

I f I could go back to my high school self, I would let her know that she needs to be more social in college. She should make sure to go to the event fairs and get involved in student life. I would tell my high school self that although you don't want to forget about your old friends, it is going to be important to make new friends, especially since you are going to be living at school. I would tell her she needs to prepare herself to be more outgoing because you will be lonely at times if you always stay in your room and never socialize. It is important that you are involved because it looks good on resumes after college, as well. There is a big difference between high school and college, especially because you will be living on campus. As long as you are more open to meeting new people and making new friends, your college years will be easier and more enjoyable. So be prepared.

Morgan

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would definitely reassure myself that my decision to attend community college and then transfer into a small university is a good idea. I received a lot of pressure to go the natural route of going to a big university right out of high school, and I thought I would deeply regret my decision to attend community college and then transfer to Aurora University. My decision to go that route was honestly the best decision I could have made. I learned more about myself in the two years at McHenry County College than I could ever have imagined. I learned what I wanted to study when I transferred and I realized that I wanted to attend a small university because I enjoyed the student to professor ratio in community college. The time taken while attending not only saved my money, but it gave me the right amount of time to find myself and figure out exactly what I wanted when transferring onto a university.

Tracy

I could tell you the importance of being prepared. I could tell you how first-day jitters never really go away. And I could tell you to hold on to the good friends you have, no matter how far away they move. I could tell you how professors love it when you have already read the book they assigned for fun. I could even tell you to stay away from fast food and stop eating meat far sooner than you did. But you are smart, and you will figure all of those things about soon enough. But the most important things are usually the simplest and the simplest things are the ones we tend to forget. Be kind. Be kind to yourself. Be kind to others. Don’t beat yourself up when you make mistakes and never call yourself a bitch. Have grace for yourself and grave for those around you. Be kind and everything will work out, eventually.

Alyssa

I would tell Alyssa, "listen girl, you are almost done with high school and you'll actually start learning something." I'd tell her to be prepared to actually have to work for her good grades, but I'd also tell her that she should feel really proud about earning them. Most importantly, I would tell the Alyssa I used to be that every single hoop she has to jump through will be worth it in the end. She is a bit of a cynic so I know she'd be skeptical, but I would assure her, using humor and colorful language, that Aurora University is about to offer her a world that she will be really excited to venture into.

Kristin

Psst, Kristin! It's me... your future self! I am stopping by to tell you what an outstanding job you have done in high school the past three years. This year, you have already come so far. You are motivated and determined, and you take pride in your accomplishments. I am proud that you have been on top of all of your homework assignments, and that you take the time to understand material. These are all great characteristics which will help you throughout college. I know you are nervous about starting college, but I am sure you will do just fine. You have an outgoing personality that will help you build friendships, and your academic demeanor will guarantee success. I have seen you build relationships with many of your teachers and that is great! This will be important to do once you start college. Just remember that your professors are there to help you in any way they can. Keep up the extraordinary work! Your effort and dedication will take you places, and you will be a successful teacher in no time. I promise, you will be proud of youself in college. Sincerely, The 23-year-old you

Autumn

If I could go back in time and tell myself as a senior in high school what life is like in college, I would say to take school seriously, don’t be afraid to ask questions in class and be yourself. I would tell myself that college is preparing you for the rest of your life. Being a serious student is crucial for your success in life. The second thing is to not be afraid to ask questions. Take the iniciative to get help when you don't understand something. Who cares if you think it’s a stupid question; I guarantee someone else in the class is thinking the same thing. If you don’t ask questions you are only hurting yourself. It is too easy to fall behind when you don’t understand something. This is part of being responsible and taking school seriously. The third thing I would tell myself is to be “yourself.” Don’t let the typical stereotypes of college students change the way you act, dress, or talk. You were made unique the way you are for a reason. “In a world where YOU can be anything, BE YOURSELF.” Etta Turner.

Ariel

The First thing i would tell myself would be dont think college is going to be easier since you have less time each day for classes, because you dont! When you have free time to work on homework or stuff needed for school, do it and dont put it off. Another thing that be good is when moving into your dorm room, dont bring so much stuff that you dont need, because it will get in your way and be hard to take it back home with you when you go home for the summer. And the last thing is that you will think you have tons of free time and you might, but make sure you dont have anything needed to be done for the next day.

Hugo

If I had the chance to go back and talk to myself, I would warn myself about having a baby. I would tell myself to prepare, save up money for my future child, and advise myself to mature and change my appearance in order to seem more proffesional in the community. Have myself ask as many questions as I possibly can to my teachers to further prepare myself for college.

Stacey

I would tell myself that it's okay to go to a community college. You will boost your gpa and meet some amazing people that will forever impact your life. Do not be afraid to go to college, you are smart! Don't be afraid to go for what you want because of what someone else said to you. It's okay to tell your dad that you are going to Aurora Universtiy. He won't like it and you will both fight, but remember that this is one fight your not going to loose. Aurora is an amazing university that has everything you need to succeed. Also, start volunteering at hospitals. Like Jose always says it's not what you know it's who you know! Start talking to teachers and friends and people at church because that's when you are going to shoot out into the stars. Basically Stacey don't be afraid and stop being shy! You are amazing let people see it! One more thing, don't drink too much coffee it's expensive and it's a diuretic! Study for your MCAT after you recieve your Associates!!!! Do not wait! Sincerely, You.

If I could go back in time and talk to my past high school self I would make sure that I don’t lollygag in school and work a little harder to get through school faster. I didn’t work as hard as I should have in community college before I transferred to Aurora University. If I had buckled down and pushed myself to do better I would have been done with college now and not have two years left. That is possibly the biggest issue that I would want to talk to my past self about.

Going back in time i would tell myself to look at everything and ask lots of questions before choosing what school to go to. Some of the questions would be like Hows the school internet system will i be able to acesses it anywhere on campus? Another question I would ask is how do you select housing for students, is it random or is it but what each students intrests are? I would also tell myself make sure the school feels like home. If the school doesnt feel like a second home for you then it isnt a school that you should be interested in going to. The last thing i would advise myself to know more about is how well register and finanical aid will work with you. If they arent friendly and arent really helping you understanding things, then they arent a school intrested in you and therefore you shouldnt be intrested in them.

I would tell myself to be realistic on my educational career goals. I do not want to over shoot my abilities in getting my work finished. Staying up all night playing games and talking to my friends will not get work finished on time; I have learned this from not only viewing it, but experiencing it. I have failed and I know what to avoid in order to succeed now with age. As long as I stay positive about my work and become more realistic about reaching my goals, my career objectives should follow. Executing my objectives will carry me farther with planning not only my class work, but my life goals as well. Making clear objectives will allow them to be finished timely and without error. Time to face the facts: if you stay positive in class, become a more realistic student, and execute your objective on time and according to your professor or boss, you will be a success in your education career objectives. This is how I plan to execute mine.
