Do NOT go here. The teachers over all are mostly okay, its the people in charge that can go shove it. They make everything a nightmare, and will screw you over at every opportunity. They will tell you things and okay things just to go back on it later saying its not possible, making it so you can't take the classes you need before you graduate. Registrar here is the biggest piece of crap possible and will lie and change their minds and ignore you and will not help you.
Delaware Valley University is a great four year private institution where students are a name as opposed to a number. I have made valuable connections with my academic advisor, professors, and fellow classmates. The campus is well-kept and has beautiful scenery. The university is a great option for students who are interested in transferring from a community college to a four-year school.
I like the small school setting but there are defiantly some things that could be worked on. Including the on Campus housing, the food, the campus facilities, and more events/ extracurricular activities. I think a big part of it being very hard right now is due to COVID, so I understand.
DelVal is amazing when it comes to both experience and academics. The professors on campus are always available to help you and because of small class sizes, a lot of benefits come along. DelVal exercises hands-on experience and has many programs in which students are working with animals and or are in the field for credit! There are so many opportunities and despite not having the best dining hall, everything else is fantastic.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Delaware Valley University is 68%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I would say not to worry. I would say that the academic portion is not much different then high school was. I would say that living in a dorm isn't that bad as long as you have a nice roommate. I would say make friends with your professors, they are there to help. Most of all I would say you're going to be in the National Honor Society, just relax and try to enjoy college.
I wish I had known that sports were a 100% commitment to that sport year round, that the food here is not good, and that freshman assigned roommates could be a disaster.
farm kids or jersey kids.
The amount of friends that you make because of the small size of the school. Everybody is very friendly and basically gets along with everyone else.
Delaware Valley College is a school mainly dedicated to the environment and animals. We have a lot of majors including agriculture, horticulture, and animal sciences. On campus we have orchards where apples and peaches grow. There is also farms that contain horses, pigs, cows, chickens, sheep, and llamas. My college has a dairy from our cows and a farmer's market that sells our produce and plants. This school is very hands on and gives the tools needed to survive in an animal or agricultural field. I enjoy being in a place that is so connected to the environment.
The unique part of Delaware Valley College is that you are able to get more one on one help with your professors. They are very friendly and are always there to help you at any time. Since it is not a large university, you have a more personal connection with your professors. They actually know your name as opposed to you just being a number in a class size of 300 plus students.
Since it is a small campus, being able to roll out of bed 5 minutes before class, not running to class, and still being on time is very nice.
I think the worst thing about this school is that a lot of people leave on the weekends to go home so there really is not much to do on the weekends. Only the people that have a sporting event to attend to or live far away go home. You really have to know people to have a good time.
Those that have business, computer, agriculture or science based interests. should attend this school. The students and faculty are very nice, and you will get the most out of your education if you are in a field that many of the professors here are.
Hands on education
There is not much to do activity wise on campus. The weekends are quite boring and there is not much for the students to do to have fun and get to know each other. I would really like for there to be more to do on campus.
A very liberal and theoretical person.
Pretty much.
It's really not a hard school at all. You have to be an idiot not to do well here. However, that does not mean you will not get a good education here if you are in the ag/science departments. Don't bother wasting your money (and a lot of it to go here) if you're going to major in anything else.
There are a few fraternities and sororities but joining one is not vital for a good social life. However, if you don't enjoy drinking every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening into the next morning, you'll be very bored on the weekends. Many people start drinking around noon or the early evening and don't stop until they fall asleep early in the next day. Then they eat, shower, and start all over again. Classes are definitely attended a little drunk on those days. People just laugh it off because those kids know when to crunch down and get their work done. There really isn't anything else to do around here. Even if you have a car, there's nowhere to go in Doylestown. A ton of kids go home for the weekend so you need to make sure you're friends with kids who live far away if you don't plan on going home for the weekend.
Three major stereotypes usually: 1) If you are an agriculture/science major (crop science, dairy science): You know your stuff and you're really just here for the piece of paper or you're looking to go on to vet school. You're a hick. 2) If you are any other major (business, accounting, etc): You're not very smart and either played a sport that you want to keep playing poorly (we're DIII) or you live close (or you're from Jersey). You're a guido.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
100% of students attending Delaware Valley University receive some sort of financial aid. 33% were awarded federal grants. While 80% received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
