Indiana University-Bloomington Top Questions

What kind of person should not attend this school?

Chelsea

Someone who wants the college experience they have always dreamed of. Academics, school spirit, and a lot of fun are all what this University is about.

Matt

someone who doesnt like to work hard and play hard at the same time.

Jenna

Honestly, there is not one type of person who could not find their place at Indiana University. The campus is so large and diverse that anyone attending can easily find his or her niche. For example, many varieties of activities outside academics are available and can make the campus seem smaller if a student prefers a more intimate atmosphere.

Angela

Hateful, close-minded, segregationalist, ultra-conservative, hard core drug users, and people who don't value a good education.

Emily

Anyone who is highly opposed to any single group of people should not even vaguely consider going to this school. Also, people who are afraid of large school environments should not attend Indiana University-Bloomington; while most of the classes I've taken were smaller, there are few majors that will not put you in a huge, crowded lecture hall at least once.

Morgan

People who should not attend this school are people who are not willing to open up and try new experiences. Indiana Univeristy is a school offering many opportunities, but it's size can often deter people from opening up. If someone is unwilling to meet new people and get involved, then they will not enjoy themselves nor exercise the full capacity of the University. Also people who do not take academics seriously at all will not last longer than a semester.

Emily

I think anybody can find a place at Indiana University. Everybody is very accepting of different cultures and backgrounds.

Joseph

This is a large school located in southern indiana. Many come from all over the world to attend but those of us from this area come here from rural small towns. It requires drive, determination and the ability to stay focused and organized to manuever this big campus and classes required. If you do not have the skills to do this.....you should not go to this university. (I have know two who have already flunked out due to the fact (in my opinion) it was overwhelming to them and no one noticed.)

I believe any "type" of person could find a friend with a similar personality or beliefs at IU. If one was extremely introverted or shy, it would initially be hard to make friends and have a social life. As long as you are persistant, you can thrive at IU.

Jordan

Being that there are so many people in this school, it is hard to say that any type of person will not being able to fit. Although this being true, it is a large school both in number and in size so I would suggest not attending if one is looking for a small school. The school really does take good care of its students and therefore I think almost anyone can fit. It quite possible will make it easier if one is more social than not, but that really applies to most situations.

Whitney

students who want a city feel. The campus is close to Indianpolis, but still secluded. You are kind of trapped to the campus most of the year.

Alexander

Indiana University is so diverse that nearly any student could fit in somewhere on campus. The only type of student that may not fit in is someone who doesn't enjoy participating in activites, alcohol or non-alcohol related, around campus.

Sabrina

Putgoing, internally motivated students.

John

A quiet person who has no intention of having a social life or making friends should not attend IU. Making friends and having a good time are inevitable.
