Describe the students at your school.

Randi

The majority of my classmates I don't know, which is ok because I need a break from everyone knowing everyone and every move they make like before.

Meghan

My classmates are friendly, kind, helpful, and genuine.

Amanda

My classmates are very helpful, friendly and willing to go the extra mile.

Brandi

I have hundreds of classmates, who are eager to learn as long as the lectures hold their attention long enough to stay awake.

Charles

My classmates are spirited. Everywhere you go you see school spirit. It will be a quiet day with no game going on and you can still see about half of your class wearing our school colors. I know they are spirited because at an exhibition men's basketball game, against a no-name team you can look up and see the entire student section filled and everyone is wearing purple. This is a great feeling because you feel included, it makes everyone closer and feel more like the family that we are.

Kristin

K-State is known for its school spirit, so naturally the people who attend this university are always ready to rumble. It?s almost impossible to not make friends here when everyone is so outgoing and open to new things. There?s never a dull moment, unless, of course, they are catching up on some last minute studying for an exam that night. My classmates who live in the dorms with me always count everyone in on the fun. If one needs help on some homework, there will always be someone there willing to lend a hand.

Nicole

My classmates are very diverse and unique.

Teklemariam

I see my classmates as hardworkers very intelligent and very respectfull during clastimes. When having a group study they always particapte in study session.

Thomas

There is a wide range of students here. I have classmates that study every subject with the same dedication and effort regardless of the difficulty or importance of the class. There are also students who don't devote as much time to their class studies, but instead devote more time to studies out of the classroom. These range from off campus technique seminars to any book relating to chiropractic they can get their hands on. There is also a smaller percentage that just seem to float by and devote more time to social networking and enjoying the local bars.

Lisa

Mostly agricultural backgrounds, but still open to other kinds of people and work focused.

They're more concious of their social life or job than going to school and doing their homework. Many are in the greek system. A lot of students just look bored in class. Sometimes you'll get a really gret teacher though, and discussion in class is much more common.

Tisha

My classmates are very friendly, diverse, and fun.

Christopher

Everyone is different. Many of my classmates are just regular people trying to get along in the world. Many of them don't take it as seriously as they could, so I try to take advantage of that. It doesn't seem very competetive at all.

Julianne

My classmates are laid back, but they still study for their classes.

Lori

Mostly the student body is pretty relaxed. They wear t-shirts and jeans or shorts to class. There's usually some sort of show in the Quad-like flags for every 100 soldiers who've died or something. I think predominately that the school is conservative, but at the same time all views make themselves heard. A lot of people I met were from eastern Kansas, but some were from the west or other states.

Monica

Students are very much relaxed on campus when it concerns attitude and dress. however, there are plenty of opportunities to dress up and go out. Most students are from Kansas but certain majors such as architecture draw people in from across the country. With the majority of people coming from Kansas or the midwest, the bible belt, students on campus seems to be very conservative.

Dani

At kstate... I can say we have SOOO much pride in our school! Willie the Wildcat has a huge impact on the student body! I can say he is one of the best mascots that can really get a crowd and the students at K-state excited about our school! Our student body is always striving to go to the next level! We want to make our school better and better and involve as many people as possible to take that much more pride in our campus and school!

Melania

Even though most students are from Kansas, I have felt completely in place. Everybody is really nice and welcoming. There are quite a few international students and many study abroad oportunities; this allows for students to have contact with many different cultures.

Chelsie

I don't think that any student would feel out of place here. The student body is very multi-national and multi-racial. Financially there is a good mix of people from across the board, everything from wealthy to paycheck-to-paycheck attend the university.

Melissa

I feel like the socio-economic background of the student body at K-state is pretty average. K-state students don't have the reputation of being extremely wealthy, unlike other universities, which is nice.

Connie

It is the absolute best there is!!!!!!!

Michaela

I would like to think that no student would feel out of place at K-State, but I'm sure there are some that would. If you come from an upper class family and maybe have a complex towards others who were maybe raised on a farm or out in the country then this is not the school for you. I haven't so much noticed any racial tensions, as much as socio-economic tensions. I know kids who grew up in Overland Park who wear designer clothes and drive nice cars, and then I know kids who grew up out west and have more than 3 pairs of cowboy boots and drive big trucks. I have friends from Texas, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and of course Kansas. Its an interesting group of people and learning about our differences is half the fun.

Harper

There are many different ethnicities and countries represented on the K-State campus, giving the school the diversity factor some colleges lack.

Alex

The student population is incredibly diverse. There's a student group or organization for anything you're interested in. Everyone is also very civil with each other, and there is no hostility at all between any groups of people.

Alex

The student body is pretty diverse for a school in the middle of Kansas there are a lot of kids from big cities and a lot from the country. There is also a healthy number of foreign students on campus.

Abbey

K-State has a mixture of all kinds of students from different backgrounds. When it's dinner time and I'm looking for a table, I see all kinds of people sitting next to each other, regardless of different race, religion, social or academic standing. We may not have the most diverse student body but from what I can tell, everyone gets along with everybody no matter whom you are or where your from, as long as your willing to be a good friend.

Blake

K-State is mostly white and heterosexual, but that comes with the area. Kansas is pretty white and heterosexual too. However, for a town i central Kansas I think K-State is very diverse, at least a lot more diverse than where I came from. There are a lot of cliques at K-State. The Greeks, Aggies, Archis, Johnson County kids, Dorm kids, etc. Most students at K-State are from Kansas. There are quite a few from Johnson County in particular. Most kids are either middle or high class kids- not many underpriveleged kids are noticable. Politics wise- K-State is pretty divided. There are a lot of conservatives since it is Kansas, but there are also a lot of liberals since it is college and all. To class everyone wears whatever is most comfortable...sweats, shorts, hoodies, T-shirts (mostly purple ones). Some of the sorority girls pull out the heals and ugs but...that is ONLY the sorority girls.

Barbara

Most of the student body is upper middle class and white. There are many different ethnicities also, just not in high numbers. There are a significant number of Indians (especially in research jobs around campus) and various Asian ethnicities who generally stick together. The majority of campus is just a preview of Kansas as a whole. Conservative, white, and bible thumpers. Moral Philosophy was lots of fun being the only open-minded, non-conformist present.

Rachelle

The student body is pretty diverse. The attire to class is everything from sweats to heals and skirts. There are people of every social class and every background. Students on campus are very involved, Greek life is big!!!

Dana

The student body at K-State is like Kansas--predominantly white, conservative, and middle-class. This does not mean that you cannot find very active liberal organizations or individuals or students from all over the world. Someone once told me that whatever I was looking for in college, I would find, and I have that to be true for myself and many others that I know.

Sarah

Diverse

Alex

For the most part i feel that the ksu campus is very diverse and that everyone is fairly accepting of everyone else. there are some stereotypes with all of the sororities and frats but that is to be expected and not a lot of people pay attention to them. No lie but for the most part the majority of the students just wear sweats or jeans and a t-shirt to class with hair up and no make-up for the girls and a hat for the guys, especially if its a morning class. And by morning i mean before noon not just the 8am classes.

Andrew

In general, K-State is composed of a pretty good mix of people. A majority is white, rural Kansans, but K-State has a nice blend of international students too. Also, if you go to church, you won't have any trouble finding bible studies, worship services, etc. to attend.

Caitlin

Conservative...

Matthew

I am a non tradtional adult student, so I do not have much to do with the campus when not attending class.
