I think Kent State University is best known for the tragic shooting on May 4th. Even though it is a very tragic day it is known around the world, its even mentioned in songs.

Kent State University is best known for the Kent State shooting that happened in May 4, 1970. Besides this tragic event the school is known for their diverse student body and the numerous internships, and help the advisors give their students compared to other universities.

I would have to say, unfortunately, my school is most renowned for it's May 4th Massacare. On that date in 1970, 4 students were shot and killed along with several other students being injured. There was an extremely hostile protest being held on campus at that time. Protesters had burned down the ROTC building and refused to disperese despite their legal obligation to do so. It became so violent that the National Guard was called in for support. When the National Guard felt seriously concerned for their own safety, they fired into the crowds; killing 4 students.

Unfortunately, our school is known for the May 4th Shootings which killed many protestors at Kent State. This was a negative event in history but has brought all of Kent State University campus together as a family.

John Hay Early College is best known for their rigorous curriculum. It is a three year high school where you take all honor classes. So in order to achieve graduation in three years you take yearly courses in semesters. This school is tough and challenging but is worth the hardwork. The school thrives in a very poor Cleveland Metropolitian School District and was able to compete with top suburban high schools. I would highly recommend John Hay High school to any student who lives in the Greater Cleveland area.

Fashion and Design as well as Engineering and Education programs. The Psychology department is also exceptional.

Whenever I tell someone who is older that I go to Kent State the first thing they bring up is the May 4th event.

Although it has since acquired a professional reputation for quality teaching, for its affordable tuition and ever-growing student population; the former connotations with what occurred in May of 1970 are most likely the first associations one may be expected to have with "Kent State".

A diverse campus, good extra curriculars, good sports-football and basketball are popular. KSU has a great nursing program and fashion program. I believe it is good in the arts. It offers many majors. I know a lot of people going for education as well. It is a good "college town". There is also a lot of greek life and bars. It is a bit of a party school. Just a regular university, nothing too special except some of the programs, like nursing.

Kent State University is especially known for their School of Nursing, School of Fashion and Design, and School of Aviation. Students from around the country and the world attend Kent for the benefits of these three prestigious programs. In addition to these, they offer a long array of majors, minors, and concentrations.

The architecture program, which is what I am in. Answering some of these questions was very difficult because in the architecture program, we are very career focused. However, I really don't think the majority of campus is the same... but I spend most of my time with other architecture students, so it's hard to say.

During a peaceful protest against violence and the Vietnam war, the National Guard opened fire on protesters and students killing four and wounding nine others. My school, Kent State University, is best known for the May 4th shooting during the Vietnam War era. Students rioted against the United States' involvement in the war, and the National Guard was sent to keep the students under control. The issue escalated when soldiers advanced towards the students near Franklin Hall in the middle of campus. The guardsmen began to retreat, but, for some unknown reason, they turned back and fired shots into the crowd of students in a nearby parking lot. Four students were killed, eight were injured, and one became paralyzed from the neck down.

Though it is unfortunate, the one event that Kent is best known for is the Kent State schootings on May 4th. People across the country may not have heard of similarly- sized schools in Ohio but Kent stands out for that incident. Because of this, Kent has become known as an active civil rights school and this has influenced the student population dramatically.

For the Kent State shootings on May 4th 1970, in which Kent State students demonstrated against the invasion of Cambodia. The demonstration was too be supervised by the National Guard but the situation escalated after the National Guards men shot at the students leaving 4 dead and 9 wounded. This event gained national media attention and is remembered ever since.

It was not a sporadic shooting. The students had been peacefully protesting the war in Vietnam and the draft until they burned the ROTC building and damaged building in downtown Kent. Armed forces were brought in to subdue them. The men shot at the students due to a miscommunication; no one knows exactly what happened. Four students died that day, and nine injured.

My school is best known for the health programs. Nursing is considered as one of the best colleges in my school. It is really competitive to get into the nursing program in my school. Students are required to get A or B in the pre-requisites of nursing in order to get into the progarm. Knowing that the competion is really tough, my school has also provided student leaders to help the students learn more smartly and in an effective way and unlltimately to get better grade in the course. This facility is availabe to all the students for free.

KSU is one of the most diverse, accepting universities in Northeast Ohio. When a senior in high school has to decide where they have to go to college, nine times out of ten they'll choose Kent State if they're going into fashion or nursing. Kent has an exceptional nursing program, ranked 5th in the nation in size, and 127th in the nation for quality of education. As far as fashion is concerned, it's ranked 3rd in the nation for both size and quality of education. Both programs are intense, yet give very respectable degrees.

Kent State University is well known for the sense of community that it has. The school provides many ways for you to meet new people and make new friends. There is always somewhere you can go to get help with anything whether it is homework or just a problem you are having in your life. It provides many tools for students to utilize that will help them further the knowledge and skills of their major. Coming to Kent State will make the student feel that they are coming to a school that genuinely cares for their education.

Unfortunately, my school is best known for the "May 4th Massacre." On May 4th, 1970 four students unarmed students were shot by the National Guard. Also wounding other students, the National Guard fired into the crowd killing one girl who was on her way to class(very involved in the protest). This horrifying event is still a part of everyday life at Kent State. Every May 4th school is let out and a ceremony takes place on the hill. Black beams mark the parking spots where the four students were killed. There was "Fire in the Homeland."

The rallies got out of hand when the National Guard began opening fire on students in the crowd. Four students were killed while nine others were wounded, and one of them was paralyzed. A nationwide reaction occurred in response to this because hundreds of universities, colleges, and high schools closed because of student strikes that took place throughout the country. This raised awareness for protest against the Vietnam War.

I am not really into sports, but I think my school is best known for Football, especially the rivalry that our team has with The University of Akron football team.

My school is widely known for their fashion program. We are currently ranked second in the nation for fashion majors. People from all over the country attend Kent State University for their fashion program.

Kent State University is most notable for the disburtion of black squirrels around Ohio from an experiment roughly fifty years ago on campus. As a result, hundreds of black squirrels can be found everywhere on Kent's campus as well as surrounding areas. Kent State takes great pride in these animals- they have even devoted an entire festival to the black squirrels called the "Black Squirrel Festival." This university has even dedicated radio shows and hundreds of books to these rare sqiurrels.

Kent State is best known for the majors of education, nursing, fashion, and architecture. However, any major that is selected at Kent State will provide excellent education on that particular subject. The professors are well educated and able to teach their particular subject well. Students learn the information necessary to do well in their career when graduation approaches. On a noneducational note, Kent State is known for their famous black squirells and how they interact with students on their walks to class.
