The combination of Wesleyan being a liberal arts school and the smaller campus makes for an amazing experience. In my classes, my professors have done an excellent job of not teaching you WHAT to think, but rather HOW to think. Classes are often very discussion-based, so we all get to share our opinions and learn more from different perspectives. Critical thinking and creativity are encouraged. Even in my math class, which, by nature, is more memorization than anything, my professor incorporates different projects that give us a little bit of creative wiggle room.
Nebraska Wesleyan is a community of people with a desire to learn from one another. Stepping onto campus everyone is eager to meet you, shake your hand, and tell you their story. This college has a way of enveloping your mind and challenging you in a way you never thought possible. The second I stepped foot onto Wesleyan's campus I knew it was the college of my dreams. With a 13:1 student to faculty, a beautiful campus, and an air of complete acceptance, Wesleyan was exactly what I was looking for!
Everyone is super friendly. The campus is really beautiful and the professors for your classes will work with you if you get behind. Office people are so friendly and will go out of their way to remember your name. Also, the security guards on campus are really nice and will keep you safe, don't be afraid of them. Another really awesome thing about Wesleyan is that they will work with you to make sure that you get your major done when you want it done and that you don't forget anything.
Nebraska Wesleyan University has a beautiful campus. We are considered an arboretum, which entails a great diversity in trees as well as plants on the campus. The maintenance staff at Wesleyan is wonderful! The maintain the grounds beautifully and promptly. Wesleyan also offers programs that are very uniquely tailored to each student. I felt very at home here, and the faculty/staff that I met with made me feel important and fit an educational plan to my goals.
The teachers are friendly and more than willing to help you. Your not a number at NWU. The teachers know you and your learning abilities. They schedule time to meet you if you need. Each department had a few free tutors to help you study. While education plays a heavy role in a students life at NWU there are all sorts of extracurricular activities to participate in, including intramurral sports, greek systems, and various clubs.
Nebraska Wesleyan is a small school in the city. We get appropriate attention from teachers but still have the opportunities the city offers. Because of its size, NWU is a great place for leaders to get experience in several extracurricular activities. Professor here are understanding of other commitments and helpful in addressing time conflicts as well as how to improve accademically.
Wesleyan is a small school in a big town. You have the closeness of a smaller high school while still being in a big city. There is another huge University in Lincoln so it is a college town for sure. There is always fun things to do in the city, but you can really concentrate and get fully immersed at this school as well. It's the perfect mixture of size and opportunity.
I transferred here, so I found the staff including janitors extra friendly and personal, and the arts much more supported by all faculty and staff. I love it here.
Wesleyan was the perfect size. Not too big, and not too small. I love the enthusiasm of all the proffessors here. They want you to succeed.
