It is a great school! They encourage you to do great things and get involved. There is so much to do on campus, and it is always bustling with activities. The community on campus is phenomenal and you just can't get anything like it. They are a private Christian college, with at first may seem like a drawback, but it has been an absolutely wonderful experience going here.
I think it is a good school with a Christian atmosphere for the most part. It is not very strict and there are many options where the initially strict rules become very relaxed. They do provide a positive influence and can be very helpful and supportive. The professors are very supportive and helpful as well.
It is a great place to grow not only academically but spiritually as well. If I was aiming for purely an academic school, to be as honest it is not the best option. It is an average liberal arts college in that aspect. However, I do not take for granted the fact that it is a school where most students are not prioritizing the party scene over academics.
It is a great school. The atmosphere is great. Everyone is so friendly and the professors are so personable and get to know you.

Overall, the last few years of my life while in college have been some of the the best years of my life. Not only has my college experience given me the resources and knowledge I need in order to be successful in my future career, I have also learned so much about life, love, and happiness. Through hard work, dedication, and the challenges that come along with it all, I have become spritually, socially, and academically stronger throughout the past few years. My college experience has not only helped me to become a confident individual in this big world, but it has also taught me how an individual like myself can make a huge difference in the lives of others.
First off, I am a Nazarene and this school is Nazarene affilitated. I have a scholarship because of that, and I know that and scriptural teaching will follow what I believe. I also liked the fact that it was the largest and most active of the 7 Nazarene schools in the country. There are a lot of different social activities to get involved in, all centered around God, to build community.
Typically, a classmate at this school is WELL OFF financially, the kind of student who has been in 14 different car accidents and still has a brand new car that DADDY just bought for them. They are typically conservative in political views and tend to be easy going, yet when confronted with work, tend to slack.
The best thing about Olivet Nazarene University is that it is a christian school where we can all live in Christ together and learn more about our relationship with Him everyday if we want to.
A conservative christian who does not want to have their worldview challenged.
There is nothing that I wish I would have known before entering the school. I was very well informed and prepared before starting my freshman year at Olivet.
Very concerned and accommadating to full time parents who work and have decided to go back to school.
My school is best known for having a good christian atmosphere, where students can have a good learning experience with religious students
The most frustrating thing about my school is curfew. It gets kind of hard sometimes when you have a big exam or group project and you have to get in your room at a certain time rather than cramming at starbucks, or the library.
Olivet is an extremely strict school when it comes to alcohol and drugs. If anyone, no matter who they are or what their statis is, is caught with either of these there are severe consequences. I would suggest that anyone who knows they are going to have a problem with that should probably think about going to another university. Although the university provides help for people who want to quit drinking or doing drugs there is a lot at stake. It only takes one mistake to end your education here.
Olivet was rather strict when it came to interaction between the sexes and the amount of time you could spend together in the dorms or apartments together. I was glad I never had to walk in on my roommate doing anything, however at the same time we were often treated like junior high students who were unresponsible and unable to make our own decisions.
I usually tell them about how many awesome friends I've made here.
