Purdue is so diverse. Everyone claims that it's very conservative, but really there are so many views and so many different kinds of people around campus. It's like an entirely different world, apart from everything else.

Morgan

Great Big ten atmosphere. There is lots of school spirit. It can get very warm in the fall and spring, and verey cold during the winter.

Sean

It is very diverse. Very powerful school when you graduate, diploma means a lot. Many famous people come by. Sports are a blast to go to. If you are twenty-one, breakfast club and grand prix week are a blast. Most fun I have ever had and I have visited my friends schools, they want to come here with me now.

Ike

I would have to say that the people are very amiable, but a little prejudice. I also think it is one of the most diverse schools in the U.S. And everyone knows that Purdue is an engineering school, and one of our alumni's actually went to the moon! Armstrong. I would also say that, it's very strange how a myriad of great people came from this school, although it's an University in the middle of cornfields of Indiana.

Erim

Purdue had a plethera of top rated, amazing engineering and technology programs

Jessica

If you are looking for a college that makes you feel like you are "at home"...Purdue is right for you If you are looking for a college that i will challenge you....Purdue is right for you If you are looking for a college where professors are readily available and you are not just seen as a number...Purdue is right for you Its happening here.....

Matt Bartlett

You have to visit Purdue's campus before making any final decisions. Once you come to the campus and see everything for yourself, it's very likely that you'll get excited to come in the fall. BOILER UP!

Brett Schwab

Hey Purdue Pete, BOILER UP!!! nough said

Theresa

Hail Purdue!

Morgan

This school was the only university i considered. The others were community colleges.

In the "no hold barred" category, I would like to discourage anyone from the midwest from attending Purdue. This school IS the midwest, and you know it well already. There's a big world out there, and for what tuition costs these days, you deserve to go far and away and discover it at another school, with real diversity. I also think you just don't get a very good education at Purdue. For a well-rounded education you need a well-rounded school.

Motinola

Purdue does a really good job preparing their freshman for college. They have a lot of programs that help them along their way and make them feel at home. They also have a really good reputation and hold academics high. I also like that they are a big 10 school, because everyone gets into the games here which makes the campus smaller.

Shelby

I don't think there is any other school in the country as welcoming as Purdue. I was here with my parents my senior year of high school, and I had people smile and say hello to me as I was walking through campus. No other school had that kind of atmosphere that made you feel like it was another home.

Cecelia

My other school was strictly liberal arts, and this is multiple learnings.

Gene

A photo slideshow of different events that I participated in throughout my entire freshman year at college.

Jacob

I didn't consider any other schools to be completely honest, so I can't answer this question in any way that might help your research.

Jordan

Overall, I don't think I could have made a better choice than Purdue.

Kirsten

If safety is a big issue for you, Purdue may not be the campus to consider. It seems safe during tours, etc, but once you get there the story is much different.

Kyle

It was a very good opportunity for me to be able to study at Purdue. I had an excellent time and it was a good part of my education. I made really good friends that I am still in contact with.

John

Go Purdue!!

Harper

Expect to be challenged here, in many ways. You will be pressured endlessly to change yourself and conform to what others want for you. These inconsistent pressures will often conflict, and leave you feeling helpless unless you develop a sense of identity and purpose. Once you have this, you'll be in a good position to help Purdue understand what it's gonna do for you in exchange for all the money you've given it, and what you're gonna be in life, whether your critics like it or not.

Purdue University is an excellent academic establishment that provides students with endless opportunities. Purdue provides a wide variety of majors and hundreds of minors taught by qualified and enthusiastic professors. Students striving to expand their knowledge and seeking new experiences can turn to Purdue's strong student life programs. Personally I have had many leadership opportunities through the Greek community, an academic honor society, and through university employment with the office of admissions. Purdue is not only a place to grow academically, it is a place to gain new experiences and friendships that will last one a lifetime! BOILER UP!!

Will

DONT TAKE HONORS ENGINEERING!! its a waste of your time.

Matthew

Purdue is a great place to develop into who you want to be someday. It's a great place to gain the necessary knowledge, social skills, and experience needed to hit the ground running in the American and International workplace today!

TJ

It smells at Purdue and the weather in Indiana sucks!!

Greghory

Go to Purdue. I promise you won't regret it. The first year sucks and is slow but after you make a new group of friends, you will never want to leave. I might just become a Purdue student for my career.

Matthew

It's a great school overall, but there is a lot left that could be improved.

Jen

Purdue's health center does carry Plan B, offer women's services, free condoms, Pap smears (not free, kinda expensive), and birth control prescriptions. There is a planned parenthood in Lafayette. We have bus routes.

Aleksandra

I can't think of anything else.

Erica

Purdue students are OBSESSED with facebook, and uploading and tagging pictures is how we procrastinate. I've noticed that Purdue students are fantastic at procrastinating. Honestly, if it were a major at least half of the Liberal Arts students would switch instantly. I've also noticed that it's easiest to make friends your freshman year through BGR, the week before school starts for freshmen to tour campus, meet people, and learn our traditions, and in the dorms, and once you turn 21 and join the nightlife scene; in between you've got to try hard in classes to widen your social circle because people settle in pretty quickly to their groups. In classes everyone sits in the same seat every day, although there is almost never a seating chart. Force of habit, I guess. It's pretty quiet for the first couple days but once you turn to the people next to you and strike up a conversation it's really easy to become in-class friends at the very least. Worst thing about Purdue: There is a severe lack of parking on campus and people here cannot drive in the snow. Maybe it's because I'm from northern Indiana and I'm used to the lake effect deluges, but everyone slides around like buffoons and freaks out at the slightest sight of snowflakes. Also, there is an infrequent but pretty terrible sewage smell on campus.

Breakfast Club is amazing. Grand Prix is the most fun week of your college life. Study hard and get good grades becuase it pays off in the end. Make the best memories you can within 4 years. The friends you meet in college are the BEST friends you will have throughout your adult life. Be open-minded and be willing to try everything once. Be motivated. Party. Respect your fellow Purdue family. BOILER UP!

Jesse

Although Purdue is a very conservative, midwestern, engineering school, it hosts several performing arts events including its annual week-long jazz festival and has even had the Dalai Llama come speak. Purdue is an amazing place and I highly recommend it.

Jaime

To sum it up, everyone will find there place within Purdue's diverse student body, superior academics, and unruly traditions.

Melissa

Purdue is great. If you are going into engineering, expect a lot of work. It will be worth it though, as you are almost guaranteed a job after you graduate. The people are really friendly. It's a great social atmosphere. Bring warm clothes!!! It gets extremely cold. Be prepared.
