Make sure that when you start looking for a college , you find the right one that is in your price range and has your major. Sometimes students choose a college but when they go there its really not what they wanted to major in. So be careful and make a list of colleges that you would like to go to. Then, do research on all of the schools to make sure that they have your major and if you could afford the tuition or not. Just go ahead and achieve your goals and you will really become something in life.

When going to college you have to know what you want out of it. I highly recommend considering this very seriously before just following your friends to school for the ?experience?. College is a very smart move for those who want to further their education and position themselves to get that dream job. College is a place of learning and can be fun, but when it is abused the lessons are filled with regret. When considering the ?experience? you are looking for in a school; you need to think about the whole picture. Some schools offer financial benefits, some are extracurricular (sports, clubs, and social), other are more academic, and some have a nice mix. Knowing what you want and taking the time to be sure, will make the return on your investment much more lucrative. Take the time to talk with people at the schools and those in the industry you are interested in, find out what they have to say and then make an informed decision on what you feel best meets your goals.

My advice to all students, wether young or married with kids, is to never give up and stay positive. The path to obtain your degree will always be bumpy it's just up to you to hang on. At the end, all the head aches and sleepless nights will be worth it. And to always remeber if someone else can do it why can't you? For parents, to always stay by their side and help them stay positive. A sudent always needs support wether finacially or spiritually and who better to help them their parents.

Students and parents should figure out what college is most affordable to them and also figure out if the field they will be studying is best covered by the school.

Contrary to what some may think college is not some big party where coeds totally lose their inhibitions and fantastic things occur. Above all, this should not be the goal when getting ready for college. Some of the most important things to consider are the goals one wishes to meet while there and the credentials desired by the time they leave. This can be a defining moment for the rest of some people?s lives. Choosing the right school needs to have dedication and a clear understanding of what aspirations are to be fulfilled. Another important consideration is the commitment to a curriculum and the life style of the student. There are many different schools with various paces. Some are very precise and fast paced, where others are slower paced and have a wide array of courses that lay a foundation for many majors. Once a student makes a final decision and commits to a specific major a majority of the general educational course have been met. The most important thing to remember is that college is no joke; it is a powerful tool that has an immeasurable impact on someone?s life no matter what path they choose.

The advice I would lend to students and parents about finding the right college and making the most of the college experience would consist of a few pieces of advice from my own personal experience. Figure out what is important for you. Would you like to stay close to home, would you like to attend a traditional or non-traditional college, etc. Make a list of areas of study you would like to pursue, and research schools that are well known for successful and stimulating programs for those areas of study. Most importantly, take pride in the fact that you are taking the next step to better yourself. At some points, the road to obtaining a degree will seem long and frustrating. This is normal, and you need to think of the long term achievement ahead. An education, no matter what school you attend or for what degree, is priceless and will be something you will have for the rest of your life.

Finding the right college for a student can be very difficult. The size of the campus, and class size are big determinents. If a student wants to know their professors and have a one on one relationship with them, or simply sit in a lecture hall and take notes depends on the way the student learns. In addition, what activities are around the college plays a large role. Likewise, the the sports or clubs offered at the school can have an impact on the students choice. In addition, the amount of money the student or parents are going to pay for this education. Is it worth it? and also are there scholarships available? are some questions to ask when choosing a school? However, most important element to look for at a college is the education and quality of the school. Ask youself, will graduating from this college help me later in life, when pursuing on with my career. If so, this is the right place to be. Once a student has picked their ideal school, the main thing to remember is work hard, have fun, and be serious because how you do in college, can affect you later in life.
