The campus itself is amazing, and the environment itself is very beautiful because of its nature. Southern Arkansas University is a beautiful place where people walk, hang out, and have a bonfire every fall. Southern Arkansas University has a beautiful lake where most people who love fishing get to hunt for fish in that beautiful lake.
It's a great place to call home. couldn't see my self anywhere else. Everyone is friendly, in my first few months here I have made so many friends. The professors are always very nice and helpful, they want to see you succeed, and that's always encouraging.
I had visited SAU just one time before I decided to attend! The decision seemed to be very easy for me. It wasn't just one thing that helped me with my decision, but many factors. I only had one friend currently attending, I thought the facilities for campus life was great, but the selling point was the sports facilities! Everything was comparable to a D1 school, but it is a D2 school. I am a baseball player and love all the athletic facilities available to me!
I have received a BSE and a M.ED from Southern Arkansas University. I truly enjoyed my time at SAU and will miss the university when I graduate in December 2016. The teacher/student ratio is small which is wonderful. There are on campus activities for everyone. Being involved made my time at SAU much more enjoyable. I felt safe on campus with Resident Hall directors, Resident Assistants, and on campus Police Officers. Not only was the college absolutely wonderful but completely affordable. I truly enjoyed my time at SAU.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Southern Arkansas University Main Campus is 69%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I could go back to being a senior in high school, I would not go to Votech. I would stay at school and take AP classes, fill out as many scholarships as possible (because college is EXPENSIVE), and make better grades. It is tough paying for school, and working can distract you from your studies. If I could go back to high school I would change so many things. I would have been starting college as a sophomore, or atleast with some college credit.
The majority of my classmates are a combination of eager, fun loving, bright, open minded people who don't mind helping a fellow classmate achieve.
Any person who attends this school should be self-motivated in the sense of not being distracted easily. There will be many parties and gatherings, but enough to miss a few so they can study.
If you like a really big school you shouldn't atten SAU.
The most frustrating thing about Southern Arkansas Univeristy for me was the food. Sometimes the cafe food wouldn't be good and the only other place to eat on campus was Quiznos, which is very expensive in the eyes of all college students. As a student without a car, noodles were the main course of almost every meal, which is very unhealthy.
Our mascot, the Muleriders. It's a good small college.
Southern Arkansas University is a great school with many resources to choose from tohelp you be successful in your journey to getting a degree.
Don't give up on studies and stay on top of them/
The best thing about SAU is the closeness of the student community as a whole. You usually know everyone in your classes or organizations.
Everything.
We have a great agricultural program. We have all types of animals out here from cows, to horses, mules, ducks, and sheep.
The academic side of the school is less than challenging.
I don't know, I guess there isn't much of anything.
There is little effort put into the school's maintenance, nothing to entertain students except the party life, and they accept too many applicants each year. Nothing is catered for the students best interest, but in what is cheap.
I'm not sure.
If I have to consider something, the worst thing about my school is the lack of school off campus activity. The city doesn't really have anything for students or young people, so many are lost to drinking because that's all some lower minded students think to do.
