The student body at St. John's is very diverse and there always a number of students that share the same interests as you. In addition, because the campus is diverse you will be introduced to mant new cultures and ideas that you may not have experience and in general you tend to enjoy being in this new enviroment. In addition, in allows you to learn even more about yourself as a person and helps you grow personally.

Katie

um it is extremely mixed. in the fall there were a lot of pregger girls and now they had their babies and i dont see them anymore. it is a liberal school as far as i can tell. the food isnt the best (not home cookin) but it is by far better than the food ive had at other colleges. the cafe tables usually i think have 4 or 5 chairs to them. most students get dresses casual for class.

Charlie

For a Catholic, it's extremely Jewish. It's always Money, Money, Money. Regardless of your situation.

Brett

My only experience with a group on campus is Jewish Student Association which is excellent for two reasons - good food, and excellent, interesting lectures. I'm not the most active member but I was once, earlier on as a freshman. I don't think any student would feel out of place at st johns because its a very diverse campus. Its hard for me to explain what students wear... Different types of students do interact. I dont go to the dining halls much but its just like high school, because if there are college students who have time to hang out in dining halls, etc, its because theyre still being babied by mom and dad and have nothing better to do with their time. Most SJU students are from New York City (5 boroughs) & Long Island... Wide range of financial backgrounds are prevalent. As for being politically aware, I'm not entirely sure... and I don't know if theyre right left or center... Sometimes, but rarely, do students talk about how much they'll earn...
