I wish I had known to join an organization with girls, instead of just my fraternity. I also wish I had known how to study and manage my time better.
I wish I knew more about the Aggie Family.
nothing.
I wish I had known that my bachelor's degree would not be accredited when I graduated.
How to study better
I did a lot of research before I came here to Texas A&M. My father graduated from here and I have been visiting here all my life. Once I got here I knew what to exspect, I knew that there would be hard work but it would all be well worth it in the end.
I wish I would have taken advantage of more advance placement test offered in high school so that I would have saved my parents this financial burden .
To take advantage of all the amazing resources at your disposal as a student. A&M has some of the best Alumni in the nation and is unmatched in facilities in many majors. TAKE ADVANTAGE!
Really get involved in campus activities. The friends you make are 100X better (and more important) than the classes or schoolwork. Don't judge the school by Fish Camp or New Student Conference. A&M is a lot more diverse and artistic than pictures and descriptions may let on. Although they have a reputation for being conservative, there is very high tolerance.
I wish I had known I could take more hours a semester than what I was first told. I would have been able to graduate a full year early if I had taken a fuller course load my freshman year.
I would have liked to know some more about my degree plan and lay out.
I wish I would've known that our football program, even though it receives a great amount of hype and anticipation before each upcoming season due to the high recruiting and the amount of returning starters, is an ultimate failure because the Aggies only disappoint the loving fans.
When applying to the University it was my understanding that it would be easy to find financial aid. What I came to realize is that tutuion price raises every year and if you have no one with good credit to co-sign, it is near impossible to get help. I feel like I work hard and do very well in this school and its not fair that things are made difficult because of my family's financial situation.
How much fun I was really going to have. It has been the best time of my life and I wish that I could do it all over again!
Give it all that you have got from the beginning. Form new relationships and keep nurturing them.
I wish I had looked into extracurricular activities before I came to Texas A & M, because they have a club for everything and I would have liked to be a little more involved. The school has everything from caving clubs to SCONA (Student Conference on National Affairs) and a lot of these groups really appeal to me.
