What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Do not just choose one school, because it is not writen in stone that the school is going to accept you. If you are excepted to a four year university , do not chose to go to a community college; they are a waste of time and money. Take as many credits as you can, so that you can finish school on time, and make friends. Friends are very helpful while in college. They will feed you, let you stay in their dorm if you stay of campus and dont have a way home or if your class are far apart. They also help with homework and you all can share text books. Lastly do not give up. No matter how hard you think it is keep going, because at the end it will feel so great to have that degree in your hand.

A good thing to do when rying to find the right fit is to visit the college on an open house day. That way you can see people that are going there, and the type of people that potentially will go there. Try and picture yourself on that campus with those people. If you feel comfortable, it might be the college for you. Its hard to judge compatibility with college tours. They are stale and fact based. Open houses are a time for question anwering, and mingling. You can see how the school handles events, and what sort of enviroment they create. To make the most of the college experience you need to find a balance of work and socializing that works for you. I work 80{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the time, and socialize more sparingly, but my roommates socialize most of the time, and then cram in their work where they can. We are all passing and comfortable, we are getting what WE want out of school. If you find a subject or topic that is interesting you, you might want to look into it out side of class too- maybe you're in need of a major switch.
