The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith is a great place to go if you want to stay close to home, but also be able to spread your wings. Even if you are from far away, you'll feel at home. The campus is beautiful and all of the students and facilities are there to help and support one another. During these Covid times, UAFS has made sure that everyone is following safety precautions, to ensure everyone's safety and well-being. When people struggle with academics, UAFS offers several ways to get help, to allow everyone to succeed. No lion left behind!

University of Arkansas- Fort Smith, otherwise known as UAFS, is a fun and engaging place to get an education. The professors care more than other colleges, and you can always reach them outside of class. We have many on campus activities throughout each semester. Living on campus is a great experience! There are many different types of rooms to live in, and they are featured suite style. Besides the dining hall, the campus has a Chick-Fil-A, Subway, Starbucks, and many other options in the food court. This college is a great option for out of state students that want to feel at home while away from their original home! It is very easy to make friends, and there is a lot to do with on campus with those friends. I would 10/10 recommend UAFS to anyone!

It's a small university overall but the buildings, facilities, staff and education is top notch. I've lived here for about 7 years and am glad I decided to attend this university. It's allowed me to stay closer to my family and friends all the while giving me knowledge and various experiences.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could advise my high school self, I would tell myself that no matter the cost, I should go to the school that I want. I should not settle for a school just because it is cheaper. I would also tell myself that there are so many more scholarships and federal funds for which I could have applied. I would make sure that I studied more in high school and learned to use study groups to prepare for college. I would also make sure that somehow, I lived on campus. I believe that one cannot get the full college experience without being fully emersed in student life and having to interact with other students in academic and non-academic fields. I do not feel that my high school did a good job of preparing me for college, or that the University did a very good job of making me feel like a part of their instituion instead of just a number.
