Our school is best known for its friendly people, both students and professors. Maryland also excels in many sports for both men's and women's teams. Maryland has strong academic standards, as well, and offers many majors. You are expected to perform well and study hard, otherwise it will be tough to earn a good grade. Maryland is also a place of great diversity, and within that comes many clubs and activities, including a large Greek Life. UMD is a great place to spend these four crucial years.

We are known for having a strong basketball program and being the biggest school in Maryland. We are also known for having a pretty racially diverse community and a strong Business and Engineering Schools.

My schools location is right near Washington D.C. and it is also a very strong research based school. We have so many resources available to us from all different directions. It is also a wonderful place to meet new people and enjoy your college experience.

To anyone that does not attend my school, when it's mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is its academic competitiveness. It is widely known as a school that's very difficult to get into, and if you are enrolled, people know you are intelligent. But, to the students there, UMD is best known for its reputation as a party school. On any given night of the week, there is always a social event to attend.

Research, being large and diverse, and it is growing to be known more for it's efforts to be green.
