Its big and has plenty of opportunity

Its near my home, I have alot of friends who attend UMASS that I went to highschool with. Friends are extremely easy and dating is also easy. Just the entire campus is huge and its own city. It truly gives you a at home feeling, It is where I call home, not college.

It's a large campus with any facilities. There's more people to interact and socialize and it's also fairly easy to make friends.

A large variety of cultural classes, suprprisingly large amount of clubs, accessible religious facilities, near a mall, also near a large city, Agrciulturally influenced, but provides a rainbow of courses available. First College to inititate relationships with Japan.

The location is very nice. The campus has many different feels to it. Some residence areas feel like cities while others are very quiet. Amherst is a wonderful town with alot of things to do and has access to many stores that are a necessity. It is within walking distance of campus, but the busses are extremely helpful. Northampton is very close and is a unique town that offers a variety of venues, shopping, and restaurants.

Its uniqueness stems from its diversity, size and distance from my hometown.

It is very comfortable here, the staff is very nice. This school feels like a city with its own zip code, but once the students walk around, they feel right at home.

Although my school is very big people always find the type of people that they're looking to be around.

Its amazing, theres so much to do and i've had so much fun attending it. the town is great and everyone is really nice.

Umass places a big emphasis on research, is a state school, and is the largest university out of all those I considered.

UMass Amherst is huge, yet one of the most friendliest places that there could ever be. students as well as teachers are welcoming and try his or her hardest to accommodate the needs of the students.

UMass Amerst has an unwavering reputation as a party school; however, some students get the wrong impression, and suddenly realize they can't go as crazy as they thought they could. School pride is also a very big deal at UMass Amherst - sporting events are huge, especially football, basketball, and hockey.

I love UMass!

Drinking is very prevalent on campus. Sure you can go out and not drink- but almost everyone around you will be.

look for school books on Booksoncampus.com. The textbook annex is a RIPOFF.

I loved my time at U. Mass. I am the woman I am today due to my faith in God, the strong support and love I continue to receive from my family and in a large part due to the outstanding education and numerous opportunities I received from U. Mass Amherst.

Basically, if you wanted a successful and enjoyable college experience then to go to UMass Amherst!

Not like this is very important to your decision on choosing UMASS Amherst, but if you do decide to attend UMASS, I would recommend investing in a pair of rainboots! =P

I love UMass- if you live in MA and are thinking of going to UNH or UConn because you think they're better, my out of state friends say they're not! So think about UMass- I never thought I would end up here and I did and I love it!

Not a fan. I'm getting a good education but if not for it being cheap, I'd be at another school right now.

join the band! we may practice mon-fri in the fall, but it's soooo much fun! even if you've never marched before, we can easily teach you!

I would definately reccommend UMass.

UMass is a great place and it's becoming more prestigious each year. The key is to get involved with extracurriculars such as music, sports, clubs and organizations, etc. If you do that, then it's pretty hard not to have a great time at the Zoo.

Freshman year will be your best. Try to do as much stuff as you can :) Meet a lot of people - it's always better to explore with others.

Tons and tons of bureaucracy hear. The administration system is ludicrously complex and departments rarely communicate with each other.

This mite sound like i hate the school, but i had a good time here. The social life is good. I made a lot of friends and had a lot of fun. Academically i think the schoo is a joke. Im glad my diploma says Umass Amherst, but i could have learned just as much at a smaller cheaper school. I wouldn't trade in the social aspect, but the school has grown too big. Teachers have too much to do and can't handle everything and deal with students individually

I can't believe I went to a different school my freshman and half of sophomore year. So glad I transfered.

wut else can be said i dont know if you dont come here you are seriously missing out like i love it here. and i am so happy to be here. it's a great school wit great oppurtunities why even think pass it up...AND YOU WILL I REPEAT YOU WILL DO THINGS YOU SAID YOU WOULDNT DO!!!but never regret what once made you smile... i havent and i wont and try everything join everything until you find your nitch your place in UMASS...DECLARE YOURSELF

I have enjoyed my time here because of the people I've met. I've been very lucky!

UMass Amherst can seem very large and overbearing at first, but you get really used to it. It starts to seem normal and you know everything. Everyone finds their group of friends, their favorite places to live and feel at home in their major. You can always find something to do on campus.

Umass sports are great! If you are an incoming freshman and don't have anything to do on weekends, go to hockey games! They are great fun. Also, football games and basketball games have a huge fan base. You can even join the "Maroon Platoon" which is basically a formation of spirited fans who travel with their team of choice to games and cheer them on.

Ugh ugh ugh. First semester sucks. Hard. But after spring break, everyone comes outside and its like, the coldness that was over the campus (both literally and figuratively) melts away and its just so beautiful and nice and fun.

I love the business school at UMASS.

If you don't drink and don't like being around people who do then don't come here. You don't have to drink to have fun, but people will be drinking, even in alcohol-free dorms and events.

U mass is the SHIT!!! its the best school around. THere are so many different opportunities here, and the education you get is awesome.

Unless you plan on joining a sports team...go to a different school. This school is corrupt and falling quickly. If you can afford better, then do yourself a favor and go. Otherwise plan for four years based entirely on binge drinking with fat preppy kids who think they are the best thing that has ever happened to this school. good luck everyone
