Anytype! I came from a small town, that had less people than my freshman class. It only took a few weeks before I started hanging out with kids from around the country, even from other parts of the world. It doesnt matter who you are, where you come from, or what you like to do, if you look hard enough you'll find something or someone!

A person who is open to a lot of different kinds of people. They enjoy being around a lot of people, but at the same time don't want to live a hectic life in a city. If a massachusetts resident, definitely should consider coming here since its so much cheaper.

You'd have to be big into new experiences and living life rather large (for the middle of a farming valley). UMass has a lot going on, so it's easy to get swept away.

I think this school could fit anyone. It is such a large school but at the same time it feels small. I believe anyone can find there place on this campus and enjoy and succeed at anything they want.

It's a state school and anyone can attend the school. There are people of all backgrounds and the school is in a perfect location where hiking, winter sports and other physical activities are accessable.

Students who aren't afraid of a big, diverse campus. It's a large school in a small town with the best of both worlds around it. There are malls nearby and very quiet farmlands on the other side of campus. UMass has so much to offer as far as classes and degree programs. You will meet people from all walks of life, ethnicities and backgrounds and you will be welcomed by all with open arms.

Anyone interesting in contributing to an academic environment, willing to study hard and learn. UMass has a reputation as a party school, but its becoming more than that. Anyone interested in just partying will be wasting their money before they inevitably fail out of school. UMass does not exclude any type of person, and anyone can find acceptance on this campus.

There isn't a kind of person that should attend this school. I've met all different types of people and everyone gets along. There are always the cliques that you can find around campus but that doesn't mean that they won't be nice to you. Everyone is very accepting. It's such a big school too that if you don't find your type of person right away, you just keep looking. It's easy to find people that you like.

The kind of person that should attend this school is someone who, one enjoys a small town atmosphere, two is very sociable, and three is a hard worker. Because though UMass is a very large and has a lot of social activity going on, the university puts a real big emphasis on academics.

Someone who is outgoing and is eager to take advantage of all there is to offer. It's a big school, but that means it has alot more to offer. If you take the time to look for something to do or a group to get involved in you won't be dissapointed. There is always something going on and you can get as involved as you want.

Someone who is independent-minded and assertive. No one will chase after you to make sure you are choosing the right classes or doing your homework. Someone who is open to new ideas and would not be overwhelmed by such a large campus with a large student body would find UMass to be a good fit. There are many outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing, and because its such a big campus and requires a lot of walking, someone who is more active would adjust well to this campus.
