This is not a school for students who let their parents take care of everything. You will not be babied. While this is a very academically rigorous school, it is the social and cultural opportunities that create a sense of community for any student.

In my experience, some students aren't up to this challenge and either procrastinate in the scholastic field and then succumb to stress, or rather are too focused on academics to have a good time. I never found this difficult, and I have many friends who are well-adjusted. People who love sports, are energetic, light-hearted, and driven would succeed at the University of Michigan.
