University of New Hampshire-Main Campus Top Questions

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

Rhiannon

It's not in a city location and is very green.

Christopher

It allowed me to be around a lot of the same people that went to my high school.

Sarah

It has an absolutely georgous campus. The areas are very clean and well taken care of, and it's very relaxing to be able to walk around such a beautiful learning facility. The buildings are all made of brick, and there are trees everywhere.

Autumn

The UNH campus offers a variety of organizations from sports clubs and music groups to organizations focused on peace or the environment. Most people will be able to find some kind of extra curricular activity to participate in and help them meet new people. I think this school really allows students to explore new activities which helps enhance their time in college. Although I know that the focus of my time at UNH is my education, I think UNH offers a great experience to students outside the classroom too by offering so many diverse activities.

Meaghan

The campus is beautiful! I had a hard time deciding which school to choose and it was getting close to deadlines and I decided to go on one last tour at UNH and it locked in my decision because the people were so nice. Little things like how everyone holds the door for the next person make the UNH community a great, positive place to be.

Laura

I dont think it is very unique from any other state university but it's definetly largest school in New Hampshire.

Roxanne

Even though other schools offered me financial aid, UNH gave me more help and in the end it was really the only school I could afford, and it conveniently turned out to be a really nice match for me.

John

the diversity of local NH people and diverse international kids

Meg

The diversity as far as environment. the campus is in the woods, but everything is high tech and the train will take you right into boston. there's definitely a small town atmosphere but considering the number of students, you get the feeling its bigger sometimes. so that dichotomy a woodsy environment with the big technology in a small town with a lot of population.

Katie

The campus was beautiful and the students very friendly! also great classics program

Robert

This school was a reach school for me so for me the uniqueness was that it was a better acedemic school. Also it was one of the only schools that was not located in the city which was big for me. I like how the school was not that big but still had a great social scene and an active greek system which i felt is dying down at the other schools that i had applied too. Also it was the closest to the snow and i like to snowboard.

Richard

UNH is taking over the state of New Hampshire. Next.. The World.

Adam

This school is about getting involved and be nice to one another

Aaron

The school is centrally located to all the things I like to do.

Kamilah

Its location is pretty much in the middle of no where, but there the school itself is pretty large. There are about 15000 students and the campus is over 100 years old. Its absolutley gorgeous and you get to experience every season at its best. There arn't many places where you get to see folage in the fall, go snowboarding in the winter, go hiking in the woods in the spring, and go to the beach in the summer all less than 30 minutes away.

Emily

To me the most unique aspect of my school is that it is a large campus with plenty of departments and majors to choose from and tons of activities to get involved with, but the campus its self does not seem THAT large. Don't get me wrong the campus is bigger than many state colleges and city campuses but the town of Durham is the school and it is and extremely clean.

Meagan

Our school encourages speakers from different communites. For example, the buisness program is excellent and provides many students to with jobs after college. I'm an english major, and am always impressed by the prominent authors that come to our school. UNH really emphasizes community outreach and internships which more schools should encorporate.

Matthew

While the town itself is small, there is still a lot that a person can do in town, as well as, in the nearby towns that still carry the same weight of being a small community. There is always something to do no matter what the day of the week it is, whether it be local, or any number of miles away in the range of entertainment to the outdoors.

Laura

The University of New Hampshire stands out more so than most other schools because it has developed an evergrowing awareness to environmental needs. UNH and most of its faculty & students show more awareness for sustainability than many other schools in the area, even in the nation. There is a strong enrichment within the education for environmental awareness and change. This is very unique and important to take note upon, because our world's environment and sustainability has become a vital issue for everyone. UNH is becoming more developed with creating attention and action from all people within its area.

Samantha

The size, and amount of intermural sports

Grace

UNH is unique becauseeven though it is so big it has a close community feeling.

Daniel

Good hockey program, fun to go to games

Kimberly

My top choice school was in the city, so UNH is very different from what I planned on going to. I love the convience of the transportation system at the school. The campus is beautiful and very homey. I enjoy walking on campus and seeing familia faces.

Meg

Nice campus, a good mix of students.

Erica

diverse people

Andrew

Delivering a high-quality education without having to spend a fortune on more prestigious colleges. The campus size means that once you get outside of the required freshman courses, the classes get much smaller.

George

Great size campus close to a city, an ocean and the mountains.

Aarron

close to home, has great people from around the area and the country and is overall a beautiful campus and a great time.

Caitlyn

The people are friendly, and the campus is beautiful, just big enough to get lost in if you want but not so big you can't make it to your classes within a reasonable time. It's also in a small town, which reminds me of home, but "city life"or the ocean is just a short car trip or bus ride away. Also, being a science major, I was attracted to the amount of research funding is available here; almost everyone in my major is involved in at least one project be it for NASA or on their own.

Sarah

UNH is a public institution that rivals any private setting. New Hampshire does not fund public education, so the cost to attend is insanely high. Thus, many who attend are especially mindful of the cost of education and appreciate it. The campus is beautiful year round; whether it is blanketed in snow or abloom with flowers. One can cut through woods to go to class and catch a glimpse of a deer. There are even stables to board your horse! Most of all, the campus becomes part of you quickly. I can't wait for next year!

Kara

Our school is basically the town and we have a lot of nature-oriented activities.
