University of the Pacific Top Questions

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

Deana

One of the things I can brag about this school is that I can [practically] say "What's up?" to my professors, and they will respond. I say this in aknowledgement to the fact that, if you are a student invested in your work, your professors will be more than happy to help you learn the material of the class, and then some. The professors here really know there stuff, so feel free to talk with them about their area of expertiese.

Sarah

ezequiel

Nationally ranked volleyball team.

Uop is a west coast school with an east coast feel. It has many brick buildings and is a small campus.

Nichole

When I brag about my school, its about the prestige. It’s a very admired university with caring teachers and all the resources students could need. Pacific encourages students to get involved through experiential learning. It’s a very hands-on learning environment There's a great deal of community involvement programs & clubs so students can give back to their community and school. The student advisor maps out a four year plan for the student, and if followed correctly, they are guaranteed graduation in 4 years. It has a high rate of students immediately going from Pacific into a career.

Lisa

The University of Pacific is well known for its International Studies program. Students in the IS program are required to study abroad as part of their four year curriculum. It also emphasizes being culturally aware of the world outside your own surroundings. UOP alumnai frequently offer job and internship opportunities for both international studies and other major students. Alumnai often networks with the students on campus, in the community and in their future career prospects.

What I brag tabout the most when I tell my friends about my university is going to be about the teachers and staff. One I went to orientation, everyone was nice and helpful that I made me really feel welcomed. I love how my advisor was so nice and helpful with answering my questions and helping me pick classes, even though I took more time than they allowed. Through their commitment and dedication to helping out students, I decided to tell my friends and brag about the nice staff members.

Susie

I tell my friends about how convenient it is to attend a school with a small campus. I also tell them about how great my professors are.

Steven

I have made many friends where, so after a long day of classes I can relax with them. They are also willing to form study groups days before an exam. I am thankful for the opportunity that this school has given me; it is one of only a few schools in this state that has a pre-pharmacy program. I emphasize the ability to have two or three years of undergraduate education with three years of graduate school. My friends back home get jealous whenever I bring this up, knowing I have a head start at a career.

Caitlin

My school's science department is ranked in the top 11 school's in the nation, and it lives up to its name. All the science professors and courses are challenging, but they most definately prepare everyone for their future careers in science and other medical related fields. Each professor has their own method of teaching, but each and everyone of them has a passion for the subject they teach. They are masters of their fields, and they truly want their students to feel as passionate about science as they do.

Gina

The people are very nice and easily approachable, and very helpful especially to new students. There are very detailed, specific programs depending on your major, and the people within your specific major or program (English, pre-dent, etc.) are an excellent support group. Also, as I am an English and communications major, I brag about both programs and how strong they are due to the variety of classes and quality of professors. I have had some amazing professors at Pacific, and because class sizes are small, they can really help each individual student succeed.

Jake

The faculty in the music department is incredible, so I tell about that all the time.

Jacob

The fact that all the students in the Conservatory of Music all know each other, are for the most part good friends, and create a very welcoming and fun environment especially for newcomers. Also UOP is a very beautiful campus with a sort of East-coast Ivy League feel...but in California!

Nelson

I like to talk about the greek involvement at this school. Also about many of the friends that i have just from going to this school.

Tiffany

The teachers and studies are amazing. I enjoy going to class, I work hard for my grade. I know my teachers very well because of my small class sizes. Mostly I tell my friends if they want an easy A go to a local state school, but if you want to feel like you left college doing the best you can and learning the most possible UOP is the right school for them.

Kendra

I brag that there is some shopping close by and that the class sizes are kept relatively small. I also brag about the people that I meet on campus and now about the sorority that I was just initiated into.

Thomas

I tend to talk about Greek Life and my fraternity experiences. The people I meet on campus, the crazy stories I have that I would rather not share, and the countless late nights just studying together with friends. All of the memories are stories that I will never forget and will be able to tell my children and hopefully grandchildren someday. It's always good to know that when I come back I will be welcome with open arms

Emma

Greek life is so much fun, and I can't imagine having a good time at this school had I not gone greek, there's not much fun here besides with the fraternities.

Victoria

How the class sizes are not to big or small. It's a small campus and everyone knows each other.

Daryl

They have a pretty good pre-phar program and thats all.
