Westminster College-Salt Lake City Top Questions

Describe the students at your school.

Kendall

There definitely aren't as many cliques as there were in high school, but people do have their own friends. Especially freshmen year, before everyone kind of becomes who they are (it really does happen in college), everyone is friends with everyone. Eventually you figure out who you want to be friends with, but these groups also interact.

Jordan

Very relaxed. Big crowd of snowboarders and skiiers. Diverse student body with students from all over the US and the world.

Jesse

The supportiveness of racial, religious, LGBT, and other groups are amazing. the students wear casual wear to classes so it is a very comfortable environment. The diversity and how students interact with each other are very good. i dont think that a student could ever feel out of place at Westminster unless they just werent ready for college in general

Alex

Very accepting student body and pretty diverse. The dress is pretty casual except for business students who are expected to dress professional. Tons of tables in the dining hall and usually a great place to hang out during breaks. Very politically aware. Successful in future.

Jesse

Most welcoming student body ive ever expierenced. Everyone is amazing, but of course there is always those few who think theyre the best at everything

Danielle

Westminster is a very diverse community. I don't think that any person would feel out of place at Westminster. 45{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of students are from out-of-state, meaning everyone is looking for a friend during orientation.

Cameron

Westminster student body is diverse, and accepting of all who go to school there. I feel like they have groups for every type of person or personality, and they do not tolerate discrimination.

Jordan

Most students at Westminster are not of the dominant religion of the state. Most people come from a higher SES than other schools around the state due to the higher cost of education here. Overall, most students find a niche they fit in to easily as there are many options. Most students wear jeans and casual wear except in the business department. 4 tables in the student center would consist of: snowboarders, ROTC cadets, ethnic students, and business students. The school overall is primarily left.

Jordan

There is some diversty on campus, but not much. I do not like the students body here. I am here for the education.

Mel

I am not usually on campus and do not mingle with the crowd. Supposedly Westminster is all about politics and human rights but I have not felt that.

Tate

Mostly upper middle class caucasians who like to ski or snowboard. Very laid back lifestyles, students play hard and they work hard. not a lot of commrodory around the school, sporting events and such don't usually post big turnouts

My classmates are socially responsible, goal oriented men and women who continually strive for personal and academic excellence without forsaking opportunities to lead and/or participate in various recreational and social activites in their campus environment as well as the the larger community.

The classmates at Westminster College are all unique in their own ways, very diverse, meaning they are all from different ethnic origins, for example: In my Sociology class, when we introduced ourselves and stated where we were from, many were from outside of the USA and had only been living the United States for a few months, and they are all there to achieve a higher learning status and to reach their goals that they have set out for.

Elena

Westminster is trying to create a more diverse community, but we are pretty diverse already. We have a lot of international students here at Westminster. Our out-of-state percentage is one of the greatest! I feel that about half the people I meet are out-of-state including myself. Just because this school is "expensive", many people have scholarships and financial aid, and aren't wealthy brats. Most colleges are going to be liberal, not exactly sure about Westminster, but there are the Mormon conservatives, and then other conservatives in general that I have met.

Emily

My classmates are unique, each and every one of them in their own way.

Angela

My classmates all work together to improve everyone's experience and learning through social and study groups.

Kory

Wonderful! We work well together, they are friendly, supportive, and always willing to help.

Blake

The student body is small and very open-minded. There are a lot of clubs and pretty much a niche for everyone. The environment and casual and most everyone considers character more important than anything else. Predominantly liberal, but not judgemental.

Teri

Most of my classmates are in Utah for skiing or snowboarding so they focus a lot on that but also put effort into their schoolwork. They are very friendly and accepting of everyone and everyone is friends with everyone else. We all have our own individual groups of friends that we spend most of our time with but on weekends everyone hangs out with each other and there are no cliques.

Thinh

Everyone seems to work really hard to get where they want to be in the future.

Amanda

There are a lot of rich white kids that are here on Daddy's money to play video games and snowboard, and also Mormon kids who weren't quite up to snuff to get into BYU. Stay away fromt hose kids. If you know what to look for, you will find some intellectuals who know what's up. There are also a good deal of Chinese exchange students that you should take the time to get to know.

Nick

There are three groups, the rich who dont like people without money, the partiers who dont remember more than half of a week, and the studiers who dont see sunlight most of whom act like highschoolers.
