The Gold Law Firm Challenge Yourself Scholarship

Kevin Maez was a man whose life was a testament to dedication, care, and an unyielding drive. Despite facing early setbacks, including dropping out of high school, Kevin was unwavering in his determination to create a meaningful life for himself. He defied the odds by obtaining his GED and swiftly pursuing an associate's degree in computer science. His commitment didn't stop there; Kevin poured his energy into his work for the State of Colorado and RTD, excelling in computer services. Tragically, Kevin's promising journey was cut short when he fell victim to a careless driver on his way to work, passing away on May 13, 2022. To honor his memory and the indomitable spirit he embodied, The Gold Law Firm has established a scholarship aimed at empowering ambitious students who, like Kevin, possess the drive to overcome challenges and build a brighter future. The Gold Law Firm is honored to offer scholarship awards to freshmen who have spent their early education taking part in challenging skill-building activities such as Scouts, acting or theater, debate club, and speech. We believe that participation in and dedication to such activities greatly aid in a student’s development of integral leadership skills, confidence, and responsibility. Through The Gold Law Firm Challenge Yourself Scholarship, our team hopes to make educational opportunities more attainable for students who make an effort to improve as individuals both inside and outside the classroom.

Fawell & Fawell Out-of-State Scholarship

In today's world, college students do not have it easy. In addition to the skyrocketing costs of college tuition, the amounts students will need to pay for expenses such as housing and transportation have also increased significantly. Many students struggle to cover these costs and ensure that they can receive the proper education and pursue their career goals. Students who attend college in states or regions of the country that are far away from their families will often face additional challenges and increased expenses, and they may be concerned that they will be unprepared to address these concerns. At Fawell & Fawell, we understand the issues that affect students who travel to other states to attend college, and we have created a scholarship program to provide assistance for these students. Through the Fawell & Fawell Out-of-State Student Scholarship, we award $1,000 each semester to a qualified student who will be pursuing educational opportunities in a location outside of the state where they attended high school or where their parents currently live. Scholarship winners can use this money to pay for tuition, housing, other educational costs, or transportation-related expenses.

Federal Justice Reform Scholarship

As a dedicated Maryland criminal defense attorney, Kush Arora focuses his practice on representing individuals who have been accused of a variety of offenses, from misdemeanors to felonies. The work of a criminal defense attorney is as tough as it is important. That is because the presumption of innocence, what many of us know as the right to be considered innocent until proven otherwise, is the cornerstone of our justice system. As such, it requires sound legal counsel for all those accused. Attorney Arora takes his role and responsibilities seriously within the Maryland criminal justice system. He also values the need for students to recognize whether they believe the laws that govern are just or unjust, and why. These traits are valuable in all citizens, not just criminal justice professionals. Attorney Arora is dedicated to providing financial support and academic recognition to those who will pursue or support reasoned legal reform in the future. Whether those goals are met with a law degree and practice, by pursuing a degree in another field that works within the criminal justice system, or through civic participation, Attorney Arora understands that the success of the criminal justice system depends on the success of the bright young individuals who are pursuing their academic dreams. To help students achieve their goals and further bolster the system he so proudly serves, Attorney Arora has established the Kush Arora Federal Justice Reform Scholarship. This scholarship will award $500 to a deserving student who has demonstrated a thoughtful, well-reasoned view of whether certain laws and criminal justice policies are just or unjust.

"In Your Corner" Scholarship

Earn $500 toward your education by telling your story! Combs Law Group is excited to announce our current scholarship essay contest. See below for scholarship contest terms. As a criminal defense lawyer, we often stand physically by someone’s side when they feel like the world (or at least the city, state, or federal government) are against them. Though our job is to defend our clients, it’s often not about whether or not we believe they are guilty or deserve punishment. It’s about giving them the protection and due process they are entitled to as someone accused of a crime in the United States. Often, we also serve as a source of support and human compassion for our clients. We all need that person sometimes, regardless of who we are or what situations we find ourselves in. Think about a time in your life when someone stood up for or defended you. Is there a go-to person who is always there in your corner? Or was there one particularly difficult situation where someone spoke up on your behalf? Write an essay reflecting on one or more of these questions for a chance to win a scholarship toward your education. Learn more about the details and rules for this essay contest or submit your materials for the Combs Law Group Q3 2023 scholarship.
