There is an urgent need for more pre-med and medical school students. By 2030, the U.S. will face a shortage of doctors that could reach 120,000. This shortage of doctors is good news for students who want to go to medical school. Schools are now offering more scholarships and grants to pay your college tuition. Some schools even offer free tuition. New York University (NYU) has started paying full tuition for medical school students. Kaiser Medical school has also. Whether you are able to find a free med school program or not, there are ways to have your college tuition paid. Full-time students enrolled in an accredited clinical laboratory scientist/medical technologist program or in medical school are eligible for this award. Chicago Benton Bernstein Scholarship

This scholarship is available for Jewish graduate students who immigrated to the United States through the assistance of HIAS Chicago and/or applied for permanent residency or citizenship with the assistance of HIAS Chicago between Jan. 1, 2000 and the present. The student must be enrolled in professional study in one of the helping professions.

Jewish Federation Academic Scholarship

This scholarship is available for U.S. college juniors and seniors who are Jewish and demonstrate career promise in a helping profession. Students must also meet one or both of the following criteria: he/she was born or raised in either Cook County, the Chicago metropolitan area, or northwest Indiana OR he/she has completed one continuous year of full-time employment in Cook County or the Chicago metropolitan area prior to starting professional education.

This award is available to Vermont undergraduate students who are seeking a degree in registered nursing, licensed practical nursing, physical therapy, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, or social work.
