The worst thing about my school is the pressure to drink, do drugs or party. Someone who does or could potentially have a problem with this should not consider coming to ASU

The worst thing about my school is how expensive they make everything. From the restaurants to housing to meal plans to the convenient store on campus. Most college students just don't have enough money.

I consider access to the campus to be the worst thing about my school. Parking around the area is scarce and terribly expensive. There is a light rail that stops near the campus but sometimes the Arizona heat makes this an undesirable choice (especially if you have work after school and must look presentable). The size of the campus and the long distances between buildings also attribute to this problem because it almost guarantees that no matter where you park, you’ll still have to travel a great distance to get to where you need to be.

The heat. I have to walk everyday from one end of the campus to the other and it gets ridiculously hot and sweaty outside.

The worst thing about Arizona State University--like many other schools at this time--is the rising tuition. Going into my senior year my tuition is about significantly higher than when I began as a freshman in 2007. An "economic recovery" fee for each student seems a little ridiculous when most of us can barely handle ourselves in this economic state , let alone aid our school.

The worst thing about my school is the heat. It is hot most of the year and walking across a crowded campus in heats above 100 degrees is not fun.

Parking has been the worst inferiorities of this school. Poor transportation is a big issue. Parking spaces are extremely expensive and located in the middle of nowhere. Classes are crowded. Some courses are packed with more than 250 students. Teacher assistants have to check student?s coursework and surely they are not competent for instructors? jobs.

I didn't live on campus, so getting there.

The few professors that are the cause of many students' dislike of learning are the worst thing about this school. I have been reading all literature since I began to read, and to see professors tell their students they are wrong when they ask a subjective question is beyond wrong. The professors' ego has developed into a hard core, probably brought about through years of memorizing works and definitions. This has lead me to believe that they have never truly experienced art, and because of this, the student is either left with less knowledge or a greater dislike of literature.

I don't think the school has any worst qualities. I believe the school leaves all the responsibilies up to the student and if there is an issue majority of the issues is because the student did not take the full responsibility to act on their actions.

Thw worse thing about my school is the high tuition cost for out of state students and the limited amount of scholarships that I qualify for.

The worst thing about my school is the cost of all the things that need to be used for our classes, such as books, TurningPoint clickers, and online homework. All of these things cost a significant amount of money. Not only are the books expensive, but along with that, many classes require that you pay for online homework. These costs are a very heavy burden and can take a lot out of a family along with tuition. The costs of materials for class are the worst thing about our school.

I think it's over priced. I don't understand how anyone can expect to better themselves while worrying about how they're going to make payments for school. It shouldn't cost so much money to want to better ourselves, education-wise.

THe Worst thing about Universities would be the Counseling/Advisory availability. It is hard when you have many questions and want the one on one time with a advisor to help you decide in which direction you need to be going. There are all types of hours to go and meet with one but it is a really busy place on campus. The purpose for them is to help the students track their way through their College experience. It is a very important step to meet with one and not try to guess which classes to attend.

If you get a class taught by TAs--and there are plenty--beware. It's luck, favoring those with huge egos and little knowledge.

The worst thing about my school is that the language program is hard if you do not have the financial availability or the time to participate in the extra-curricular groups. If you are working full time, most students are full time students with a part time job - if have a job at all - and do not understand the lack of time commitment one can provide. Teachers are also not understanding and ask that you leave the class.

The number of students and clubs makes it impossible to quickly find your niche. You'll never meet a student more than once, and unless you're outgoing, it's hard to get comfortable in your classes.

The worst thing I consider about the school would be how many people are in the classroom. ASU is the second largest student population in the country around 70,000 students are attending ASU and I hear ASU is going to inrease the number of people to attend the insitution. In my chemistry class I had about 400 students in a room, and then my intro to mechanical/aerospace engineering class there was about 250 students.

Most everything at ASU is fine. The worst thing, if I have to choose something would be the cost of attending. The tuition was raised just a few weeks before I started by several thousand dollars.

Honestly the worst thing about ASU is its reputaion as being a bit of a party school, this is just simply because people tend to make certain assumptions, if you want to keep the prestige and be a Sun Devil apply to Barrett the honors college it's very prestigous and a part of ASU

The worst thing about my school would have to be the food selection. We don't have the healthiest options to choose from. The student union building has mostly fast food venues and the dining halls have some good foods however they offer heavy comfort foods.

I would say the worst thing about my school is that it's hard to get the classes you need and fit them into a schedule that works for you. Arizona State has a massive amount of classes and they try to accomodate everyone, but there are so many students in the first place that they fill up quickly. When this happens you might end up taking a class at 10:00 AM and then having to come back to campus at 6:00 PM for your next class which is really frustrating when you have a job too.

The worst thing about ASU is how much tutition costs. To attend this school students and their families are breaking the bank just to attend this school. It's too much for an education.

The size of general courses is staggering and is the worst thing about ASU. The class size can range from 100 to 300 students. As a freshman, this can lead to students getting lost in the shuffle or feeling overwhelmed by the magnitude of the class. There is a certain lack of personalization in these large lectures and often, the professor remains a distant lecturer rather than a mentor. The best things to do are to form study groups and actually visit the professor during office hours.

The worst thing about my school would be that it is a smoking campus. Students are allowed to smoke anywhere they wish outside of the buildings. This makes it difficult for those of us who are not around second hand smoke outside of school. It is difficult to adjust to the constant smell of cigarette smoke when it is not a normal thing in one's life.

Overall, the worst thing about ASU is the sheer number of people. It can be hindrance in class, as their is less of a personal touch and sometimes more of a one size fits all approach to education. This forces our to take your education into your own hands and make sure that you are engaging the professor on an individual level, and compete for their attention.

Before school started I thought the worse thing for me would be having a not normal room mate, waiting in a long line to eat, or whether or not I would feel safe. I was completely wrong about all of the above. I don't know what I would concider the worse thing about my school at this time.

This kind of goes along with the first question. Almost anyone with a high school diploma will get accepted into UWF, but the fact that their registration process and advisor counseling is so bad, I don't know why anyone would want to get started there. There are some great aspects about the school, but it is so difficult to get started it can quickly get discouraging and most likely turn students away. The advisors are very little help when wanting help as a student. This I believe is one of the worst things about the University of West Florida.

The worst thing about ASU is trying to understand the teachers speaking. Many of my teachers have been really hard to understand because of their accents which makes learing quite a bit harder. My physics lab teacher was so hard to understand that he usually had to write on the board and then people would still ask him questions. I also had a math teacher that had a really thick accent and most of the class had trouble understandig him as well.

The worst thing about my school is the cost! It is so expensive to attend a 4 year university. Between Room and board, tuition, and books, I feel that I am drowning in debt. I have noticed that everday items such as paper, pens, and notebooks are twice as expensive on campus as they are at surrounding stores.

Food is the only bad part I can really think of. For a small communtiy college with a small budge, the food for on campus housing isn't very good at all. The food isn't enough to keep me from returning to the school but it is a factor when I talk to people about the school. The only other problem I see is that because the campus is so small drama streams through the housing very quickly. Everyone knows everyone else's business.

The worst thing about my school is the overall undergraduate population, with an average enrollment of 54,000 students it can be very hectic trying to maneuver through large crowds of people especially when they are riding bikes, boards, or carts just to get to class and the large 200+ class sizes .

The worst things about Arizona State University is mostly their interent problems, advising and over crowding the school. There are thousands of people within the college and it is very hard to get around campus cause of the amount of people. More and more people are coming. Since there are some many people on campus, ther are extreme internet problems. Wireless is the worst and is down all the time. When people try to get help with the internet, it takes several calls and days. Not all advising such but some just don't know what they are doing.

The worst thing about my school is the fact that they don't have a lot of open availabilty for different classes. My first semester I have heard of students telling me that there were classes that they needed to take but couldn't because it conflicted with other class times. I didn't believe it until I went to sign up for my classes and one of my classes was completely full by the time I had the chance to even look at it.

The worst thing about my school would most likely be the Parking and Transit Services department at Arizona State University. I believe the prices they charge students to park even far away from classes is completely ridiculous. In some cases, students have to walk more than a mile to class, while paying $300 for a parking pass! It's like another form of taxation. I believe parking rates can be made much more reasonable for students wh are already floating part or full time jobs in addition to their studies.

I consider the worst thing about our school to be the amount of drinking and drugs. If those students put as much time into studying as they did drinking they would be genius's.

My school sometimes has a reputation for not having the same academic opportunities as other universities. I disagree with this statement, and I know that I am receiving the same education as some of the most prestigious colleges in the country. I find that the reputation, however, is the worst thing about the school, and I wish that the university could lose that negative rumor.

The worst thing about Arizona State University has to be that everything is so over priced. The food in the cafeteria is extremely expensive for a college student to afford. Not to mention that tuition keeps going up which makes it even harder for us students to afford tuition/books and also the food that they have to offer on campus.

The worst thing would be that since it is so accessible to the public, sometimes the ASU Police are not capable of maintaining order or being everywhere they need to be.

Academic advisors are not very helpful at all. I know many students who have had to take more classes than necessary or who have taken classes they did not need due to an advisors faulty advice resulting in extra semesters or even years in school.

Beauracracy

The price of textbooks but I am not sure if the prices are relatively the same at other universities

The partying and drinking. students can lose focus if they do this to much

I don't consider anything at this school to be bad. Every student makes his/her choices, so if your on the right track there is nothing to worry about.

Parking. It is hard to find parking around the school and it is also expensive

As a large univeristy, there is little support for individuals. Everything is generalized and everyone is just alike.

Our reputation of being a party school probably isn't the best reputation to have, but ASU is working to be known for other things.

What I would consider worst about my school is that it is really big. Everyday you walk a lot and were in Arizona and its hot so it doesn't help that it is so big. Most of my classes are in the same section of the school but some are far away and I have to walk a lot in the heat. Other than that the school is great and I wouldn't of ever chosen another one.
