Devlyn

I wish I had been more prepared for the costs.

Sara

I wish I had more insight into how attending a two year community college first would have affected my later attendance at a four year college. As I enter my Junior year I am already in so much debt. In hind sight, I believe I should have attended community college first.

Brent

I wish that I had known just how much study time was required in order to succeed in each course, especially my required Calculus and Physics courses. Also, I wish that I had realized that the mindset of my current school/classmates would be much different in terms of academics and social life, and that I would not be portrayed as a nerd or geek for being smart or a complete moron for having to ask certain questions about material covered in class?

Qrystylfeather

I wish I would have known to apply to more scholarships, because my first semester is really stressful. Being an art student does require many materials and the end result is a large bill. I would stress to myself that applying for many scholarships is never enough. Also, planning out my schedules, and knowing my next move would really help in the future. Money, is my main issue. It is quite stressful knowing that my loans may go unpaid for. But I can't let that happen. I just got to this milestone and there's another challenge ahead.

Luis

The fact to go to medical school you dont need to have a science degree, but any degree you choose as long as you take the required classes for medical school.

Fredrico

I wish I had known how much school was going to cost, even though I had saved up. Realizing that financial burdens is something that all college student face. This would have been help full to be prepared for, but that?s the reason why they are called life lessons.

Carla

More resources for financial aid.

hayden

So far I am very happy with my experience here.

Kenneth

I wish I would have had the ability to know how much the peer pressure can get to a young student first attending college. I have a renewed sense of the importance of the degree and focusing on my grades to complete my degree with the highest GPA possible. When I was younger and not paying for the schooling myself, I did not respect the costs and the constraints put on my parents by paying for my education. I understand this better now and have performed exceptionally well in my studies.

Ashton

Before my attendance at Arizona State University as a freshman, I wish that I had known that we have a lot of time on our hands . Maybe this is tipical for first year students but of course I will soon find out by sticking around the campus. I work off campus nearby and really enjoy what I do because I feel like I'm just hanging out having fun. My involvement with high school activities are being directed towards work. I wish I had known that I was making a great dissision working away from school to releave homework stress.

Megan

I wished I had known how big the campus was and how expensive parking was. When I started taking class I found out that every department has there own tutoring, by grad students and it is free. That their we so many ways to get help, really different from community college.

Stephanie

How to manage money

Christina

Before I left my parents home to go to college I wish i had been more prepared on how to manage my time wisely. Unlike high school, college professors expect a lot more from their students. Each student is responsible for their ownself. Prioritizing a class schedule, working a part-time job and making the right choices for your future is difficult to learn on your own so far away from your family and friends.

Helen

I wish that I had known how hard yet fulfilling it is to be on my own and away from home. It is great to learn how to be independent and be able to fend for yourself. Another thing that I had wished that I had known were all of the different things on campus that happen and the all of the different clubs that we have on campus. It is a great way to meet new people, especially if you are a freshman.

Alana

I wish I had been more conscious to the fact that universities are still buisnesses and will try to suck as much money out of you as possible 3. Residential life is a sketchy buisness and doesn't care for students 4. To make sure you STUDY from texts starting the first day of class if you want A's! READ READ READ! 4. Don't buy meal plans. 5. You don't really have to live on campus as a freshman

Carlos

To have taken AP level courses at high school. I also wish i knew that community college could had been an option.

Erica

ASU doesn't give you scholarships even if you have a 3.6 gpa just because you're not strait from high school. They make it very hard for married working adults to achieve their academic goals. Too Expensive, a total rip off.

Naomi

i wish I would have known that each campus will identify with each person individually, providing varying perspectives. People will react to a campus differently based on what nurtures the interest of the prospective student. This aspect would have given me a more comprehensive idea of what to expect and that would make up my freshman year experience. These aspects would have also helped me in learning more about myself.

Steven

I really love everything about the school, I would have liked to be more involved school programs as it seems to be a great place to meet new people. Other than that I can't think of anything that I wish I had known prior to enrolling at ASU. The campus is beautiful and everyone is happy and friendly. I really have no regrets about coming to ASU.

David

I certainly would have loved to know about the rich opportunities available through the various business clubs and orgs.

Ashley

Before I came to this school, I wish I had known that a student might need a car while on campus considering the high temperatures when needing to get groceries, and also when applying for internships because Arizona transportation system is quite awful. I also wish I knew that there were a lot more clubs and activities than what I had heard about. It is a great way to get to know others, so attend the fairs and look at booths outside the Memorial Union.

Kassandra

I wish I would have work before getting in school because its expensive and I have to work full time plus study full time

Kaitlyn

That there is such a lack of school spirit

Stephen

I wish I had know more about the importance of being in constant communication with you professors. Not only does it help you develop important connections that you can use later on in life (for example starting a careeer), but communicating with your professors does phenomenal things for you as a student. You work harder, your grades are better, and your professors will help you problem solve life events, such as missing school, or how to further yourself academically in the future.

Cristina

More prepared for college life

Gustavo

I wish I knew how large the campus was. The campus is huge and its hard to walk from class to class without being late.

Chelsea

How unpersonal the atmosphere is. How bureaucratic and corporate it is. How unmotivated the majority of the student body is.

Rachael

That the science degrees are lacking in general support and funding.

Jessica

I wish I had known that my scholarship would come a semester late and that I wouldn't get kicked out of my classes for not being able to pay tuition... It really tanked my GPA to worry about getting tossed out of college for reasons beyond my control. Also, I wish I had realize just how much different college is from high school in terms of workload and effort expended. It wasn't enough to pay attention and ask questions in class, there was a lot more work to do on my own as well.

Brittany

I wish that I had taken a physics course.

Justin

Dont listen to the advisors. They will only cause you to take classes you dont need

Elizabeth

I wish I had known which high school credits actually applied to my major.

Christine

I wish I had better study habits. I was used to not really having to study in high school and still succeed with an active social life, but when college came around it was harder to maneuver my schedule. Once again it is a time management issue.

Sarah

That sophomores get the shaft when it comes time to schedule, and that basic lectures have usually a couple hundred students in them.

Lindsay

That college isn't easy but it is do-able. That making friends further in college isn't as easy at the start.

Carolina

I wish I would have prepared myself more in math because in what I am majoring right now requires a lot of math and I wish I would have studied harder and that way I can understand math easier. I also wish I would have applied to more scholarships so I can get all my school paid off and since bioengineering is really hard and I cannot work then the scholarships would have helped me maintain myself during the year without working since my parents cannot afford to pay for my personal things.

HyunJu

The temperature. It gets very hot especially during the summer. Now I'm used to it and I prefer being hot to being cold. However, dryness here is ridiculous. So you might want to prepare yourself for drinking lots and lots of water.

Chris

Nothing I was pretty prepared and ready for college. I had never visited Arizona before, but there were no real surprises. I didn't know there were so many homeless people or bums in the tempe area, but they don't bother me.

Robert

How awesome it was!

Luis

I wish I could have met more diverse people befor going to school. Being a minority and being only around people of my race and religion growing up. Going to ASU was a big culture shock.

Bray

Nothing - ASU is incredible.

Christopher

I wish I had known how fiscally taxing the city and University were before jumping into my first year.

Krista

I wish I had known how hot the summers can be, that it is truly a blessing to see rain there, and that there is not a lot of grass around.

Lizzie

I wish I would have known how shallow students would be. What clothes you wear, how you appear, what cars you drive are all very important here. If you aren't wearing the latest fashion or stick skinny sometimes you can "get down" on yourself and feel sub-par.

Kristina

I wish I had known more about how to succeed well in classes. I had to figure it out on my own my first semester how much more study I would need to do.

Greer

I wish that I had known what I wanted to major in because I probably would have been a lot more focused my freshman year.

Hayley

That there would be people like me who were serious about school, had well-defined career goals and weren't there to party. My freshman year I felt so alienated by my alcoholic roommates that I stayed in my room almost the entire year. Joining the Residence Hall Association saved me - and kept me from dropping out of ASU. I made lifelong friends in that group and am proud of the success we had in our events and advocacy!

Shaenyce

I wish I would have known exactly how large it was. I always realized it was big but it is very hard to make friends or become comfortable with certain people because there are so many people.

April

How hot it is in the summer .
