My overall opinion of Belhaven University is described as a great opportunity for people of Christian belief to really expand in their faith. We are a Christian school and Christ is a big priority for us. We learn how to grow in our faith and how to teach others especially the youth. We are a division three school and we have a beautiful campus and we are still building and trying to make it better. The faculty and staff are humbled and sweet people that genuinely care about their students. They are willing to work hard and make sure that their students have an understanding of what they are trying to accomplish here at Belhaven.
I love the atmosphere of family. the professors are really there for you and want you to succeed. They push to your limits and help you excel, and they get you to the potential that they see in you which is always higher than we see ourselves. i had few teachers ask me if my flights home went okay, and asked me how my other classes were going and if they could help in any way.
Belhaven is a great school. It's very safe, and everyone there is polite and very helpful. The classes aren't big which makes it easier to pay attention, and to ask the professor for help if needed. I am so glad I chose this university, and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.
The college is a great place to learn basic education from a Christian standpoint--excellent for being personal with teachers. However, as the college is small, it has its weak points and is a bit of a let down compared to what other colleges offer in terms of scholarships, financial help, job opportunities, and opportunities in the real world. The career office couldn't help me find a job over the summer to internship as, which was a massive problem, especially as a Creative Writing major. However, the education to be had is rich and incredible compared to the competitive, in it for yourself attitude some schools have.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Belhaven University is 42%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I've had a very bad experience with picking the wrong school because of the scholarship they were ofering me . Althought my entire undergraduate education would have been payed for, the city the school was located in was not a good fit for me. I would tell students and parents to make sure everything about the school feel like the best fit for the student because you can not learn if you are not happy.
I would say that the most frustrating thing about the school that I attend is that there are not as many financial resources as perhaps larger universities would have available to them. The campus has somwhat older facilities and the meals could definitely be better prepared.
The worst thing about Belhaven is the judgemental people. Some of the teachers have their own ideas of the school standards and judge you silently (and sometimes not so silently) on those ideas, and the students aren't always much better. But that's not everyone.
My classmates are funny, friendly and talented.
Belhaven is one of the only private Christian institutions accredited in all of the Arts. That is what most people seem to know about it, and initially that is why I chose to go there.
It is the only private Christian university in the country that is accredited in all five arts and offers a creative writing BFA.
The professors are the best thing there because they actually care about what you think and feel, not only when you're in their class but also in your daily life. They're completely approachable and caring, but their not afraid to say "Hey, I'm the teacher here. Mind yourself." A lot of the professors regularly have students over to their houses for coffee or tea and philosophical discussions. I doubt that there are very many people at Belhaven that are unmentored by a professor, except by choice.
I wish I had known about the policy of counseling. Certain staff members are hardcore about the mental, emotional, and spiritual welfare of the student body, sometimes too much. Extremes are at both ends, and the staff goes to both ends.
My professors are truly wonderful. I especially appreciate the psychology faculty; I can tell that they genuinely love what they do. Plus, they definitely care about the growth of students, not only as students, but as individuals in the world.
Someone who is openminded and highly motivated.
I graduated from Belhaven University and I would drecribe it as, exciting, challanging, and comfortable.
Anyone with an open mind and a love for learning.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible.
