If I were to go back in time and speak to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself what I've been telling most freshman college students that I meet, "The secret to college is easy: go to class, PAY ATTENTION, and do your homework." I learned this myself a year and a half into my college experience, but I wish someone had drilled it into my head sooner. It's the one piece of advice I share with anyone who looks like they're struggling with the transition because I know how they feel because I've been there. The newfound freedom of being in college can drive you into the ground if you're not responsible about it.

The college life is very hard for all students. We go advantage all the time to get sucess in the future.

I would advise myself in a few aspects, first, be focus on my goal to become a professional. Second, take tha advantage of having parents that supports you. And third, take advantage of being single and young, because once you get married and have family, is more difficult to finish a career, and most of the time education becomes in a second place.

One of the greater serious counsels that studies and above all that take care for being someone prepared. By another side it hablaria that disfrute each moment to the maximum and put all its attempt since in the life one must exceed

Upon entering college, I was terrified. All the other students in my classes seemed calm and collected, completely prepared for the college experience. I wondered if I would fail, if I was intelligent enough to compete academically. Hiding from my peers became a constant game, sit in the back of the classroom so others cannot see you, walk with your head down so others will not look at you. If I could speak to the "just entering college me" I would tell myself, "You are not alone." Entering classes for the first time we are all afraid. There is the constant fear that we will fail. What happens if we fail? We do not know which only intensifies our fears. The professors seem intimidating in their positions of authority. Our peers seem ridiculously collected to our frazzled state. But this is not true. Over the course of 2 years I have learned that the professors want to see you succeed; they are there to help you learn. Your peers are no more confident than you are. When they look at you they see what you see when you look at them, a completely capable student. That is what you are.

If i go back in time to make decisions about college i would probably tell myself to stay in school as longest as it's take to complete my degree. I'm a 32 year old thirth year college student and it is hard to work a 48 week hours job and be full time student. Most of the time I'm at work thinking about school work an when i'm in class i think about what will tomorow brings in my work place. Nothing make you feel more complete then a college education and with it i probably have more oportunities to find a less complicated job. Even so i'm grateful of what i have but somehow incomplete, now it's the time to make things happen and at the Inter American University Of Puerto rico i can do it.

The first advice I would give serious caring academic average or GPA. The average is one of the things that the university is set to give you the opportunity to be part of it. The also look for a job for extra spending power is involved when you start university life as you spend on books, food and materials for daily use. Would get involved in more extracurricular activities and advance classes so come with a solid foundation. Academic counseling would look for to know that I will consider in the future, because unfortunately I lost several years of my life not knowing what career would choose to work as a professional. Despite not being advised correctly, I think I managed to overcome many barriers and problems. Thanks to many opportunities I could achieve what I am today, a student at the university level.

The first thing that I would say to myself is, "Nicole, don't take yourself so seriously." I was so focused on trying to please my family by doing what they wanted me to do that I never sat down and said, "This is my college education, not yours." I would have told myself that it doesn't matter what other people thought of me, but as long as I was doing things that made me happy and feel good about myself. If I had the ability to advise myself, I would have started college with a completely different mindset then what I once had. I would have said to myself to have fun in college and enjoy those years of learning and making new friends. I would have told myself to get involved in extracurricular activities or get involved with a club or organization that I was really passionate about. If I could, I would have mentioned that college is not just about getting an education and a degree, but to go through life changing experiences and grow into the woman that I am meant to be.

Bryan, I've been to your future. You are 40 years old and still working in a factory. Your body is suffering because of the hard work. You need to work hard now to get your degree and career so later in life you won't have to. You know that you have always liked the hospital setting. Physical Therapy Assistant is the career choice you are going to make. I know you were told that no mater what you do, you will be successful. This is not true. You rested on the idea that you will be successful. Go to collage and make something of your self. Also make sure you never borrow money. The borrower is slave to the lender. Your future wife Sandra will be working at Terra Transit production plant 2 and she will start working there july 2005. Invest in stocks early for retirement. Don't forget to go to college and become a Physical Therapy Assistant. This is you talking to you. You have to listen to yourself. Go do it and don't put off reading your Bible. All these things will help your family later in life. Go do all these things.

If i could go back in time and advice myself about college life I would definitly said to be really prepared. Cuase in four years a lot can happen. Alot of changes happened in the same moment and you will have to keep up your family situation, economical situation, your good grades like always and the stress of everything going on in the exact moment, but even with everything going on you will never do bad on grades on the contrary that would be your mainly focus and have really good grades. College life is not an easy one, but is full of experiences and joy when you really know what you want to study and do in your future life. Its a little stressed sometimes and you will have to make sacraficies because of the economical situation, but just think that in a future all your hard work and sacrificies are gonna paid off and you will do what passionate you the most in this life. Plans wont go as you think you will take a few more years studying social worker but on the path always make of it the best as you can do.

My college experience has been wonderful thus far. I have learned a lot of important life skills since I have been in college. College has made me be more responsible and independent. I am responsible for waking up on time and attending my classes. I have to rely on myself to go out to the college and participate in class. College has taught me how to have time management and not procrastinate. It has been very valuable to me to attend college because I enjoy waking up each day to go to class. I am receiving an education that many people are not fortunate to receive. I love going to school and college has made me realize my love for school. When I first enrolled at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa, college was just the next step in the pursuit of a career in the sports broadcating field. But after just one semester of classes, college has become more than just a place to further my education. College has taught me how to make friends with anyone, how to respect teachers for what they know, not who they are, and to get involved in every way possible. But most importantly, college has taught me how to manage my time. It's not easy, by any means, and if one doesn't manage their time correctly, the grades will start to slip. Words can not describe how valuable attending college has been for me. Without this first semester of college under my belt, I'd be sitting in my parent's house playing video games. Instead, I'm looking forward to the next semester - the next chapter of my life. College truely is an invaluable experience, that I'm sure I'll never forget.

In an occasion I had the opportunity to visit a company and to see since the different employees of the same one were working and it was a very valuable experience for my. Because I could learn some of the functions of the company. For this reason I think that this time was very important for my and I could fulfill it thanks to my university.

I have developed a better person, have more confidence in myself, to have empathy with others around me. and grown professionally with practices on campus, and become more broad conosimientos on my concentration in Forensic Science. The support of my professors, research studies in the field, extracurricular activities and the current situation in my country that I have clarified this is what you really want to study, because I want to be very useful for my community and my country . I can say with certainty that and made a very good choice.

It is never late to devote itself to study to be able to have a good future porbenir professionally. And the one that does not study does not excel himself in the life

In my college experiences I have not only learned the true meaning of an excellent practice, but I also have learned how important it is to hear different opinions from professors and students and learning from one another the true meaning of communication and teamwork. My knowledge in health has grown significantly; I feel that when I graduate in May 2011 with an associate's degree in Sciences of Nursing I will be prepared to take the necessary steps to be an excellent professional in my career as a Nurse. In simple words what I have gotten out of my college experiences is strength and wisdom. It has been valuable for me to attend college because I have been prepared by excellent professors to succeed. To be real sincere, I just want to make the difference in my community and in this country by always doing the right thing. My father abandoned me and my little brother and my mother died, but I know that if she sees me right now she would feel proud of me, my grades ( 3.28 GPA ) and the college I attend. In my college experience I have acquired knowledge, values, I learned that we must strive for what one wants, and get good grades, pass a class. You learn to socialize with people of different ethnicity and race, and respect people, we are all equal. Many people believe it's not important to attend college, but for me it is very important to attend, because that's where I learn and be prepared to become a professional in the future.

It's been a great experience for me, it has helped me to grow as person, and as citicen of Puerto Rico. I learn a lot every day and im getting ready for my future and for a better life. It is not easy to be responsible all the time, with two kids an all that, but I try my best to do all good and it is worth it.

I have gotten so much from my experience already; I am rediscovering the beauty of education. It has been several years since I have attended school and I am surprised by how much the education system has changed. With today's ecomonic situation, the need for a college degree is vital. As a baby boomer, I have to admit the technology has advanced so much that I find myself struggling. However, I find the challenge exciting! My college experience thus far has opened my eyes to many possibilities and opportunities. Between a 40 hour work week and family responsibilities, finding financial resources to attend college full-time has been challenging. Choosing an Associates in Life Style Coaching/Personal Trainer, I am shocked by the amount of time required for each class . Receiving a scholarship of this magnitude would go far and allow me to work part-time while attending school full-time. College life has been essential to my life, it helped me to grow as a person, develop my intellect and keep me away from problems . Despite all the economic and personal problems I have had, it kept me strong my family and my university support. It motivates me thirst to learn more and that I'm working hard to improve my future and be successful. Attending this university has been extremely valuable to me and I know that it will be one of the most important experience of my life.

I feel I have gained valuable knowledge of my field of study to be prepared for the business world. Not only have I learned about my field of study, I have got a more communication background by meeting and interacting with new people on a daily basis. Just about every aspect of the world today seems to require good communication. Learning to communicate and work with my peers will benefit me in the long run. Finally, I have started to develop a valuable work ethic. Having to meet deadlines and not having parents to tell you to do your homework is a valuable asset learned at colleges today.

So far, my experience in college has taught me the value of time. Along with being a full time honors student I also play volleyball for my school. This commitment leaves an extremely small amount of free time. I learned how to rechannel the way I used that time and eliminate previously aqquired procrastination habits. This has been valuable in all different aspects in my life and I can thank college for teaching me this new, must have skill.

The thing that I have gotten most from my college experience is the education. I have learned so much and yet still have much more to go until I graduate. I believe that gaining an education will be valuable towards my future career goals, but most importantly I think that attending college provided me with more confidence. As an older student it was hard for me to make the decision to go back to school. Once I did that, and realized that I could succeed it gave me more confidence.

All my experiences have been invaluable. Among them have been involved in various leadership activities and conventions. Is a goog college. I love the campus. I think this college is a very good for my education.

I am a 40yr old with a family of 5 to support. I have been unemployed for a yr. & there aren't any jobs that pay enough to support my family or come close to what i was getting for unemployment. I believe that furthering my education is something i should of done a long time ago. I am now taking classes to get my Associates of Applied Science degree; Sustainable Energy: Wind Energy Technology. With more windmill farms going up around the world. I believe that this would be a very good career for me to get into. This program will prepare me for an entry-level position in the manufacture, installation, and maintenance of wind turbine systems. It will also train me inspecialized areas such as wind energy, solar power, geo-thermal, and sustainable construction practices. I have always been a hands on worker trying to learn as much as I can, but without furthering my education in this economy I will not get very far or be able to support my family.

Through my one year college experience I have learned about the American Educational System and their Curriculum (which is different and more extense than the Argentine) ,have adquired new abilities and knowledge such as the capacity to use my computer as a virtual classroom , where I can research online and make use of the internet as an educational tool and as a communication portal to the world, getting to not only know people and different cultures but to become closer to them and find in these men and women what unites us all as human beings. I have also been blessed with the refreshing and reasuring conviction that there are still good people out there that want to help others ,not for personal gain but because it just feels right . This has been my gratifying experience with both the professors and the staff at the Interamericana University who have treated me not as a number or as a paying customer , but as a human being. As an alien to this country , I searched in Puerto Rico for fellowship, support ,understanding and a place in the land and in peoples' hearts to call home and they answered my call generously .

I have been able to devolp myself as a better individual, I have learned to associate with different types of people.

I have gotten different things out of this college experience, among the most valuable ones are: I learned what it takes to become a real proffesional, that if you want to succeed in life, one has to believe in the potential that we have in ourselves and that it takes a lot of work, effort, time and courage to start a career and finish it. The university has been experince for me much pleasure. It's been a lot of sacrifices, but also to see many good experince. So far I have been able to achieve and learn about the profession I'm studying. I hope to achieve complete my studies, and gets to be an excellent professional.

I began attending this university at the age of 18, young and somehwat naive. During my college years I had a gorgeous daughter which pushed me to try even more. I have had a wonderful experience at the university because I have recieved the help and advice necessary. The counselors, administration and professors have been very helpful as well as trustworthy. I have learned how to be a professional and responsable citizen. Throughout all of my courses I have recieved the academic knowledge as well as preperation necessary to help me succeed in the future. If I would have to begin all over I would absolutely choose the same university and concentration as I have now.

Is beautifull and is only experience

My college experience is a mix of different things, the most valuable is that I will have the opportunity to expand my knowledge, not all people have the privilege or the opportunity to select what to study. I select a bachelor degree in Computer Science; the reason that I select that major is the passion that I feel for the computers and all related things, combined with the excellent years of commercial education helped me to make this crucial choice. For me the university is more that a way to obtain the desired career, the university is a lifestyle, make choices, modifications and decisions that eventually will affect the course of your life, that is why is valuable to attend to the university and make the best choices.

What I have gotten out of my college experience is a lot of new information about what kind of career I want for my future. I think when you start school you don't realize how many different oppurtunities there is out there. Now, that I have an idea of what I want to do with my future I have to set me up some steps so, I can succeed in my goal of finishing school to get that career I am aiming for. So, I believe the information I received from my instructors about diffrent careers was very valuable and helpful.

In my college experience so far I have learned that I am not the smartest person I know. I have been challenged by students who are both younger and older than I and am enjoying discussing topics with intelligent human beings. My instructor's have opened my mind's eye to avenues I had not explored and helped me to understand "both sides of the equation." Additionally, attending college has been valuable to attend because it has humbled me and allowed me explore options that I might have otherwise avoided or not considered. I have gained such a sense of resepect for myself and others, while in college. Before college, I didn't really know the depth of how hard one has to work at having a career. College is a full-time job and I have learned that I have to treat it as that, my temporary intern job. It takes so much dedication to succeed in college. My university experience left a wonder why it is amazing how we felt and how teachers help students to sair us well in the classroom. And it has been invaluable to attend and every time I'm in college I find much peace and joy. And teachers cheer us much to make us laugh stories because we're always trying to happy. And eager to move forward always to get what we want.

For me it was learning spanish which is now my third language. But the most that i have gotten out of this expierence is never quitting. I have learned that within due time anything is acheivable. As long as you stick to it, I've become a harder worker, a better student, a better son, a better person in general. For me it was the struggle of not knowing the language which I was studying. But I started too see results with countless hours of study and diligence. I was tooken out of my comfort zone which made me want to become a doctor in order too help people less fortunate than me going through hardships.

While attending Paradise Valley Community college I have learned what it truly means to be an adult. I am no longer watched and showing up to class became on option. The professors do not care if you are sick or why you were honestly late to class. I would not have it any other way however--I have finally learned to be accountable for my own actions. I no longer look to my mom for excuses or a to make sure I am doing what I need to do. The teachers are very good at what they do and all provide extra tutoring time if needed--there should be no reason to fail a class at Paradise Valley. There is a strong sense of community and the students all become a strong unit. I am a puma, and proud of it!

I was in another university wich I did not liked and I do not like it in wich I had tried of get good grades but the ambient does not helped even the profesors. I had some friends that told me about their experience in the Interamericana of Arecibo and I had decided move on to this university.Since I moved to this university I feel more confortable, the profesor are very friendly and they educate very well. My grades are excelents and here I feel in an ambient more student. The personal helps the students to move forward and to not stay in the same site. For these reasons and more my experience are much better in this university than in the old one and I made some sacrifices to could stay here because I would not want to move to another university.

I am a single mother of 3 trying to finish my B.A because is very difficult to study and take care of my family at hte same time. I can mention that the Interamerican University of Arecibo has help me to continue my studies providing me with all the necessary tools to continue my studies. If I need help I can ask for it with no fear because theres always someone available to help. I am very happy with my college And I hope in God to finish my degree soon.
