I think anybody should come here it's a great school

Iowa State University is well-respected for it's Engineering College, as well as it's Veterinary College, College of Agriculture and Department of Science. That being said, it is a good fit for many different students. It can be a very serious university, or have a very lax atmosphere, all dependant on what you make of it.

If your planning on going into a engineering, agricultural, or vet. med. field, this is the place for you. Also, any science or math field fits right in at Iowa State, too.

Iowa State is a technical, research intensive university known for engineering and agriculture; however, regardless of major, it is fundamentally a large school with a small school feel. This means that students get not only a personal feel, but with all of the commodities and events. These things said, someone looking for a large engineering focused school will certainly find Iowa State an excellent fit. More importantly, all other students can easily fit in and greatly enjoy ISU. The university satisfies such a wide range of needs and desires it's almost hard to define who "should" go there.

I would someone that will want to earn a good grade. People that will study hard for their classes. People who tend to slack and procrastinate will soon fall behind in their classes, and their GPA will suffer with it.

Any person with high apsirations and goals could succeed here. The person would have to have good time management as well as be willing to put school before anything else. If the person slacked in high school, it would be very tough for them to adjust here, but if they are willing and have the right mind set they could succeed.

Anyone can attend this school and enjoy their experience. I guess if you don't like small towns Ames might get to you, but it does not seem to bother most people. The ethnic balance is good and most students are accepting of different cultures.

Ames, Iowa is a beautiful place, full of hiking trails and other outdoor facilities. The academics are fantastic, the students and faculty are always available and helpful. The kind of person who needs to better their lifestyle, to further their education who also has a need for an active, social life alongside a stimulating education should definitely go to Iowa State University. I've only been here for one year, and I already see a significant difference in myself. My self esteem is sky high and what I've gained in knowledge is priceless.

I think that there are two types of people that should attend Iowa State University. The first would be the technical, analytical, engineering type. Iowa State can offer students with top programs of studies in engineering, mathematics, and the sciences, and provides the necessary learning environments for these students to succeed in the global job market. The second type would be the creative, artistic, and highly personable student. ISU maintains excellent programs in architecture, design, and the liberal arts, and has the resources necessary to allow these students to learn and grow into whoever they may like to become.

A fun person who is open to learn new things and possibly change the world through innovative engineering.

Someone who is outgoing and willing to step out of their box to make friends. Should also be someone who likes to party VERY hard on the weekends (or during the week!) and that loves football games! But should also be someone who knows how to balance well and can keep up with their courses which can get very rigorous.

This school has a strong engineering and agricultural base, so anyone looking to study civil, aerospace, and construction engineering (among others) or any agricultural science or education would certainly find what they're looking for. There is a fairly large student population, but the campus is very close-knit.
