Student, you need to make sure that you are going to college because you want to go. Dont make a life changing decision like this based on what someone else thinks that you should do. If you do, you are going to be unhappy and you will not do as well as you possibly could. And apply to as many schools as possible that interest you asnd have your marjor, do not limit yourself when selecting schools. Also, do not get discouarged when apply for college, never think that you will not get into a school because the criteria reads tsomething and you dont exactly fall into all those categories. There are exceptions to every rule, and a lot of schools do whatever they can to help you if they think that you will work hard. Try and visit the schools that you are applying to, and make sure that you learn as much about the school as possible and the opportunites that will be available to you,

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Well parents should be aware of how much of a party school it is and how much of a academic school. Also they should be aware of what the student is doing on thier free time and where they are spending there money. Also if they are doing good in school or if they need help in any of thier classes.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

It is tough to provide brief advice to parents and/or students going through the process of finding the right college, because every person is unique, as is each school. Starting early in the college search and application process alleviates stress, since the whole process can be difficult, especially during a time when students' high school careers begin to wind down. Make lists of what schools have the academic and other activites you want to be a part of and make sure to visit as many of them as possible! If you are unsure of what you want to major in (as many students entering college are), don't freak out! Get involved somehow throughout your college experience (whether it be sports, a job, club, etc). This will introduce you to new people, experiences, and open up doors and possiblities for the future. Try to get the balance of school and social life down within the first semester. It will make things easier in the long run. Most of all, have fun and be yourself! This could be one of the best times of your life, but it is all up to you and what you make of it!

What's unique about your campus?

I consider the professors the best thing about La Salle. They truly want the best for their students, are always available for extra help outside of class, and are supportive in and out of the classroom. Not only do they encourage discussion and voicing of opinions, but they also implore the use of innovative teaching techniques that allow the students to get the best classroom experience possible.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

In my opinion, students and parents should look for a college that they will be able to afford because todays economy is not at its best. Over fifty percent of students from the Philadelphia area have had to leave the school they were attending because of the lack of financial aid. You don't want to put yourself in that situation but at the same time you don't want to graduate having to pay a school loan that's going to put you in massive debt. Attend a school where you want to make friends and have fun. Also, get involved with your school it helps you meet new people and you will become friends with people you never expected yourself too. Going away to college is a great experience that happens once in your life and if you have the oppurtunity I highly recommend to take it.

What kind of person should not attend this school?

Someone who is going to school for a medical degree or lawyer. This school is very expensive and you will most likey graduate owing almost triple the amount as a state school because this is a private school.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Make sure the college feels right. If it doesn't feel like home the first time you visit, it isn't the one. There is a college out there for everyone that wants to find one. Keep looking until you find yours. Once you get there, be yourself and make friends that like you for you. It's not high school where you think its important to be friends with everyone. Most people only have 2-3 very close college friends, and that's okay. The most important thing is that those friends like you for you.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The limited amount of healthy food options on campus. We're in Philly, but that doesn't mean that we should have cheesesteaks all the time. As an athlete, it is important to be able to get certain foods when I need it. Especially because fried foods, burgers, and pizza are not what I need before a game.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

I brag mostly about the class sizes. Not too many people get to have class sizes of 15-25. One of my classes this semester have 9. The professors love small classes too because it is so much more important for students to be able to interact. It definitely enhances the learning.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Live on campus the first year but do not declare a major. Continue to take core-courses throughout your first and second years because if you change you major in a later years, classes you have taken previously will no longer apply and become a waste or time, effort and money.

What kind of person should attend this school?

Somebody career oriented who still likes to a little bit of fun; emphasis on a little.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The first thing to do is to research the school online, expecially if you know what you want to major in. Make sure that the program around that major is good, that's what i did. then go and look at the schools and see what you think. when you actuially attend whatever college you decide, make sure you go with an open mind. be easy to talk to and ready to meet new people. a good tip is to keep your door open when you're in your room. this lets other people walk by and see you and possibly stop by. its a great way to meet people! also, keep an open mind about different clubs and activities. its a great way to meet people who have common interests. the main thing is to be open minded and ready for new things.

What kind of person should not attend this school?

someone who doesnt like small schools or small class sizes.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

one of the dining halls is closed on the weekends, so if you live close to that one, you have to walk about 20 minutes to the other one.
