Millikin is a great university! It’s smaller than most, but is such a close-knit community. It is a performance learning school focused on actually working in the field, with every major! It also has so many other opportunities to be active in the community, through sports, Greek life, BSU, sign language and so many more extracurriculars.
Performance learning should be the only type of learning. Millikin is wonderful at getting students in their field, developing personal relationships within the campus and the community, and providing a high standard of education.
This is more than a school, it is a home and a family. People are very accepting and professors and other faculty are always there when students are in need. There has never been a time when I have felt as if no one cared. I have always been encouraged to go to class, and there is no way to succeed without trying. It is the best place to prepare for the future!
I love my college. I am accepted for who I am, as is everyone else, and I can do everything right I have ever wanted to do with my life. Millikin believes in performance learning, meaning we are actively engaged in the field we are approaching. It is my first year and I have already taught inside a Kindergarten classroom. The energy is fantastic and I love this University!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Millikin University is 63%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I would tell myself to follow my heart, especially when making decisions like where I want to go to school and what I want my major to be. My family had been talking to me since I was very young about going to Eastern Illinois University. I decided to go there without much thought, especially since I had made it into the Honors Program on grace. To be truly honest with you, that was the worst year of my life thus far. I hated it there and in the back of my mind I was constantly wondering what it would have been like to attend Millikin University (the school I really wanted to go to). Why didn't I go there in the first place? It is a private school and my parents thought it was too expensive. I am paying for college on my own so towards the end of my year at Eastern I decided to reapply to Millikin and work really hard on financial aid. All of my hard work paid off and now I am as happy as I will every be and doing really well!
Millikin University give students the building blocks to not only become a better student, but also to become a better citizen, both in your professional life and at home.
The price, and the fact that they funnul students into their overpriced apparments, and refuse to let students get off campus housing dirrectly off campus for a third of the price. Res life is the worst thing about millikin
Someone who wants a big campus feel where there is no relationship with professors. People who don't like soy.
most of the students at Millikin tend to be very helpful, but are truly only worried about themselves. It seems as if everyone is trying to bring the other done just in order to bring themselves up.
The fine arts are the most well known aspect of our school. We celebrate the success of our theatre and music students on Broadway and in other venues. Our school's biggest community draw is Vespers, our holiday concert that sells out our auditorium.
I like my school because we strive to improve ourselves constantly. There is a visbale spirit of community, with students, faculty, and the Decatur community. I appreciate the opportunities i've had from the numerous student organizations offered on campus. I know Millikin will prepare me for professional success, and also provide a rewarding student experience.
Decatur, as a town, is not a safe or clean environment. Off-campus housing by yourself is not a good idea.
I find myself coming out of my shell more and more while I am at Millikin. My advisor and my voice teacher have given me so much that I can never repay them or thank them enough. I'm so proud of what I have done and what I still have yet to do and I'm always surprised at the things I have done and the people I impact.
The thing that brought me to this school over other schools is how everybody genuinelly cared about me when I came to visit. At every other school I visited, it seemed as if people didn't really care if I came there or not. At Millikin, they want you there. Everyone is so pleasant and not in the fake way. They ask where you are from, what you want to major in, what you're involved in, and anything else to get to know you as a person. This was very unique to me and is why I came here.
During freshman year the classes I took didn't pertain to my major at all.
People who like smaller schools that are friendly and like to get to know others.
