It is an okay college for a county college. From my experience I would tell people to go there to save money but not necessarily for the best education. It is fair prices but in my experience I never had a professor that I feel deserved five stars.
Overall, the school is okay. The school is open to sports, but it is not a big thing. There are multiple clubs students can join. The professors there are great for the most part and are often available for office hours. The campus/buildings themselves are kept clean and very nice.
Ocean County College has it's goods and bads. It's a close school that is extremely affordable and will help with getting some college credits before transferring. Unfortunately, there's not much student interaction and I've had quite a few professors that have been pretty bad. Advising isn't very helpful. Some classes seem like they aren't taken seriously by the professors which is a bummer when it's a subject you actually want to learn about.
Ocean County College is a great school to study at when you do not know what direction you want to go in so you can explore many areas and find your best fit. It also is the least expensive higher education route. My first year at Ocean County College was a pleasant experience. I was able to get a sense of college classes and know what is expected of a college student. The commute to class every day was my biggest worry, but it turned out to be a relaxing drive. There are many clubs to be apart of but if you are like me and work part time along with being a student full time, it is hard to attend events and meetings. OCC has an amazing study abroad program where students can go to places like Mexico or Paris and learn about different culture and also have a great time. To me, college is all about working hard at gaining an education for future careers, to learn about yourself, and get a glimpse of how the real world works. Ocean County College is the right choice for students like me, who need to find their path first and get their toes wet in the college life before immersing themselves entirely.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Ocean County College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
College is not all that bad. You are gonna meet some new people and it is going to be fun. There is no need worrying about anything else. Look up more scholarships and try to find all the scholarships possible because the more you have the less you have to pay later. Like I said before just relax it is esaier than you think.
Young, care free, individually intellegent students that all have a direction and purpose.
The worst thing about my school is there is not a lot of parking spaces for students. I always have a hard time parking my car and when I finally do, it atkes me a long time just to get my classroom.
One thing that I wish I had known about this school before I enrolled is that a lot the credits for certain classes you take are hard to transfer into other schools.
It is an affordable, local college that is convenient and conducive to learning. It also has a very good nursing program.
The classes here are small so you are able to learn easier than a large classroom.
The most frustrating thing is the classes are only an hour and 15 minutes two days a week. I would prefer to go for three hours one day a week.
The small atmosphere and amount of security on campus.
Ocean County College is for everyone. Whether you are right out of high school or years have passed since you have gotten your diploma. You could want to use the liberal arts program as a stepping stone to transfer to a four year university or to get your degree here and jump right into your chosen work field. Though that shouldn't stop the people that already have a diploma as you could come to OCC to start a new journey or you could take some classes to improve the one you are on.
The kind of person who doesn't want education, but is just going because that is what all their friends do
I have realized that Ocean County College is unique because the tutition is not as expensive as other four year colleges. I did not recieve financial aid; however, I could have really used it. I really did not have a choice on where I would have liked to attend college. I still do not know where I will be going after this spring because of the simple fact that I do not have the money. OCC is unique because they try to accomdate students the best they can. Other colleges I really never looked at to compare.
Some classes are harder than others. Lab sciences have been the most difficult for me.
For what it's worth, I think it's perfectly fine for a community college. If you are determined and driven to succeed, professors will clearly notice your effort.
That they are all lazy and are just barely getting by.
